ISAIAH 9:10 JUDGMENT - Video Review and Interview With Producer Joseph Farah

In 1970 even the churches were not regularly taught the doctrine of the second coming of Christ more commonly known as premillennial prophecy. Then along came Hal Lindsey's block buster best seller, "The Late Great Planet Earth."

The nation and the world were catapulted into a revival of knowledge that even the Prophet Daniel proclaimed would not be well known or revealed until the last days. A few great works have been added to Lindsey's book and those who had only Clarence Larkin's 1918 version of "Dispensational Truth" were reinvigorated to begin again to start studying the subject of eschatology. (The last things)

Certain signs have been fulfilled in this generation that make it impossible to miss that the generation Jesus spoke of as the one sure to precede the second coming of Christ, is as the Bible says, "at hand."

Of all the latest signs and the greatest teachings and discoveries about Christ's imminent return in power that have graced this generation, none is more specific to America than the parallel Israel and America share in the passages of Isaiah 9: 10 and following.

Since online journalism often falls prey to the speed of surfing and the new lightning speed of digital browsers, I will state both early and emphatically; the Isaiah 9:10 prophecy/parallel is, without doubt, the most important and impressive discovery in this decade. It is a wakeup call that we can only ignore at our own peril.

It was apparent from the beginning that reviewing this documentary would not be easy and the standard review techniques would need to be suspended in lieu of some other means of elucidation. Joseph Farah is an articulate man who in this interview manages to touch on many of the questions anyone may think to ask, but to begin with we will use the four P's to introduce the production.

PRIMARY - In both Old and New Testament days the Lord made it clear to his apostles and prophets and servants that if they went unheard and subsequently unheeded that it was God that was being rejected not the servant. Under inspiration of God's Holy Spirit, God, his message and the messenger stand as one. That being said the primary here is Rabbi Jonathan Cahn. Jonathan is what is known as a, Messianic Rabbi, (Christian) whose message is heard daily on hundreds of radio stations across the nation.

President of the 'Hope of the World Ministries' Cahn is also the Senior Pastor of the 'Jerusalem Center/ Beth Israel located in Wayne, New Jersey. Cahn has ministered to thousands across the globe. He is the author of the bestselling book 'The Harbinger' which is subtitled "The Ancient Mystery that Holds the Secret of America's Future"

In a normal review we would hail the long list of accomplishments and roles the principle has played to accent his career. In God's economy he was only looking for someone to be obedient to what they saw or heard and in that vein Jonathan Cahn is best described.

What was spoken of about Cahn's ancient Father Abraham may also be said about him. Little more needs to be said for those whose pleasure it is to serve the living God. To Wit: "Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." (Gal 3: 6)

PRODUCER - Joseph Farah is the producer of the documentary and he is a man who hardly needs an introduction. As the founder and CEO of WND.com (Formerly- World Net Daily) a website that has recently been ranked among the top 500 sites in the world, he is well known for his journalism and his untiring pursuit of the truth.

Like many Christians Farah knows that Jesus said "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (Jn 8: 32) When Farah decided that he would not hoard the truth to himself, but make it known to the entire world he became as Jonathan Cahn, a servant. Nothing speaks more about him than that. In the perspective of the Biblical worldview, that title, is the greatest he has ever been granted.

PREMISE - The documentary is used to show the parallel between ancient Israel and America. We are without doubt producing the same behaviors that Israel did before it began to fall under the judgment of God. Since both Israel and America were chosen to represent God's works and his message in our world it might seem apropos that we should both choose a similar path, but since it is a path to our own demise, it is anything but desirable.

In the last 24 hours before Christ's life leading up to and including his crucifixion he fulfilled some 25 major Messianic prophecies (Prophecies related to the first coming of Christ) against the odds of approximately 53,000,000 to one. The parallels between Israel's behaviors and America's reactions to the events of 9/11 have not yet been calculated in the math of compound probabilities, but if it were the odds would also be astronomical.

In the simplest terms - we are repeating the same behaviors as ancient Israel. The video fully explains these parallels, but much more than that, it indicates what we can do as individuals and as a nation to avoid the product of our behavior.

PRODUCT - All great portents are pretty much useless if all they do is entertain. The curiosity of the prophecies of Nostradamus, the sighting of UFOs, the pursuit of missing gospels and 'doomsday' predictions all have entertainment value, but they cannot be used to edify, guide or redeem anyone, thus they begin and end on the lower echelon of human influence we know as entertainment.

When signs or burning bushes are granted by God they have a much higher value. They are known as 'revelation' which means they are God's way of speaking to man. God doesn't just want to be heard like someone shouting over the crowd, he has no opinions or viewpoints. He is the author and finisher of all things, but he does want to make it clear that we play a role in the outcome of all that happens in our lives as individuals and collectively as a nation. This then, is the very heart of this documentary. It is a view of the terrible event we call 9/11 that when seen correctly, will serve to awaken us to our role, subsequent to that event.

It is God's way of saying - 'Now, what are you going to do about it!'

Bresciani - This is Rev Michael Bresciani of the American Prophet.org website and I'm interviewing Mr. Joseph Farah, the Chief Executive Officer of World Net Daily on his production of the movie 'Isaiah 9: 10 Judgment.' Welcome.

Farah - Before you get started I just want to say that, World Net Daily is the name of the website that most people are familiar with, on January first we changed it to WND, and officially we don't use World Net Daily anymore.

Bresciani - You know I should know that because I have a link to your site and a little logo on ours and it does say, simply, WND.

Farah - Old habits are hard to break.

Bresciani - The nine 'harbingers' are broken down into these categories, if I could say them quickly. 1. The Breach, 2. The Terrorist, 3. The Bricks, 4. The Tower, 5. The Gazit Stone, 6. The Sycamore, 7. The Erez Tree, 8. The Utterance, 9. The Prophecy. The first question I have is - it was the Rabbi, Jonathan Cahn who seems the be the person best versed in these harbingers, was he the one that discovered these or did somebody else find them with him, was there a collaboration or did he just come upon them - how did he discover them?

Farah - It is my understanding, although I never specifically asked that question of Jonathan, is that these were things he discovered, and I think I would be accurate in saying that he was led to these discoveries, by the Holy Spirit. He is a great student of the Bible and he is a student of the Bible in original languages and he sees a lot of deeper meanings, much more than the average English speaking Bible student and I think that certainly helps, for instance, knowing the difference between when you read in the King James Version of the bible that the sycamores were replaced by cedars. Well, cedar is not actually the word in Hebrew, it's erez tree, Erez is something, it includes the cedar, but it can be something, it's more generic than cedar and so when you see the sycamore tree in New York City being replaced by an erez tree, then you see the fulfillment of what appears to be prophecy repeating itself. So I think Jonathan is uniquely gifted and studied to be able to have made these discoveries.

The movie itself is a different kind of telling of the book he wrote, The Harbinger, and the Harbinger is a terrific book, but it is actually classified as fiction because it involves fictional characters. It's the telling of a real historical story. He does it in a way, a narrative form, that when I read it as a journalist, I said to myself, wait a minute, I'm afraid people are going to read this and think it's a nice book, but not get the fact that - its real, that its true.

I felt compelled to make this into a video documentary where we could actually show these events that took place because - seeing- is believing - for people. We increasingly live in a world where the visual is much more powerful for some people than the written word. So that was the genesis of the Isaiah 9: 10 Judgment. I knew the 'Harbinger' was going to be an incredibly successful book, which it has been and continues to be the number one Christian book in America this year.

Bresciani - That leads me into the second question I was going to ask you. How is it (The Harbinger) doing in the marketplace? I understand its rising again?

Farah - Yes, it's been consistently on the New York Times best seller list and it's really just a question of whether it's in the top ten or the top twenty five and that sort of depends on the exposure he (Jonathan Cahn) he is able to give it in media.

Bresciani - I had the feeling as I watched the documentary that it wasn't trying to be a 'prophecy,' it was being shown as a parallel, that we (America) are repeating a pattern, and no one could argue with that.

Farah - Well no, and if your familiar with the bible, you know that the bible is a book of patterns. And so it only makes sense that those patterns would continue into the future and to me this story, whether you read it in book form or watch the video, I have yet to see anybody come away with, well that's all coincidence.

Bresciani - Another question that came up is, I wondered if anyone involved like Sen. Daschle, Jon Edwards, Mayor Bloomberg, and the Governor of New York or anyone that's part of the documentary has been exposed to the video and have they made any statements or thrown back any reflections?

Farah - No, not to my knowledge, however, I will say this because this is the journalist in me, I have asked my team, my staff, to make every effort to try to reach out, particularly to Daschle and Edwards. I want to find out from Tom Daschle, who gave the first speech on September 12 and cited Isaiah 9: 10. I wanted to get somebody to talk to him or the aide or the speech writer that came up with that verse as the inspiration for his talk that day.

SUMMARY - The full length audio of the interview with Joseph Farah is 43 minutes in length and a great deal more depth and detail can be found in it, I strongly advise anyone considering the purchase of this video to listen to the entire presentation. It is totally free.

Everybody who watches this video will be impacted. Whether you are just curious about prophecies and how America fits into the biblical scheme of things, or if you are a solid student of prophecy you will be moved and enlightened and challenged by the obviously important message Jonathan Cahn is making in this powerful video presentation.

As a person with both a prophetic calling on my life and as a journalist I feel that our nation is sliding fast toward the place of no return, anything that serves to alert the nation to this misguided race to our own demise rates high on my list as important enough to declare and make known to other Americans.

I like to rate every film or production I review on a scale of 1 to 10. In all three categories, message, production and prophetic value I would be remiss if I did not give Joseph Farah's production of 'Isaiah 9: 10 Judgment,' a very strong - ten.

My Review of Systems as a Medical Transcriptionist

I am writing this article to pass on some of the wonderful experiences I have had through the profession of medical transcription. This wonderful part of my life started like this. I have been a medical transcriptionist for 20 years, but I did not know about this profession until after I had tried nursing, waitressing and insurance sales. After wandering through these other occupations unfulfilled, I was primed and ready for a career I felt I was suited for. But what could I possibly be suited for? I was equipped with a degree in nursing, but what do you do with a nursing degree when you don't like nursing? Starvation was a very real consequence when I sold insurance, so I knew I was not a sales person. I could always wait tables, but how much longer would my feet hold out? During this time when I was soul searching and trying to figure out what to do, I took a job as a medical secretary which involved scheduling surgery, making appointments, filing and a very small amount of transcribing office notes. In the job interview, I told the office manager I had a good bit of medical terminology knowledge and some, "experience," in a hospital. I deliberately did not tell her I had an RN degree and wanted this job as a secretary instead as this would probably have led to her looking at me wide eyed and then saying,"I'm sorry, you're over qualified." This job perked along just adequately, but it was here I realized I found transcription to be fun. I looked forward to it and was disappointed every day when the tape ran out after only an hour. I was one step closer to finding the profession of my dreams.

My first full-time transcription job (heaven!) was in a hospital in the city where I live. For the first time, I knew the career area in my life had gelled. All my education and experiences (good and bad, recent and distant) had come together and culminated in my becoming a medical transcriptionist. Any other kind of transcription simply is not the same as the medical field. Legal transcription, for example, I found to be extraordinarily boring. It is both the medical field and the transcription field put together that produces this unique profession.

When I have trained new transcriptionists who were really new with no experience in the field, I could decide within 15 minutes if they were going to stay at the job or leave flabbergasted and astounded that we actually do this. They never get comfortable sitting at the keyboard and actually look as if they are about to get up at any time. The keyboard is an awkward contraption that's impossible to operate with only 10 fingers. Word Perfect is Word Insanity to them. Their headphones are an awkward instrument of sensory deprivation. After they have entered the correct directory, pulled up the proper form and named it, they always look at you wanting to know how much money they have made so far. When they look up a word, they aimlessly wander around the book, hoping the correct term will jump up and say hello. I give these poor souls one day at the most, but there was one pitiful girl who lasted less than one day, unfortunately because of something I said.

Three-quarters of the way through the day, I stupidly asked her if she had remembered to save before leaving the document. She replied she had left the computer turned on. Long story short, she never even came back to get her glasses. There was one new recruit who actually exclaimed, "Why do you do this?" to which I responded, "I enjoy it and the money's good." This has always gotten me a look from them that meant they thought I was insane. A physician told me once, " I don't see why you don't go stark raving mad, sitting here all day and typing." I replied, "who says we don't?" I've always felt you had to be a little quirky to honestly want to do this job. After all, you sit and type and sit and type and sit and type, and then you sit and type some more. It's not unusual to continue to hear doctor's voices dictating in your head after you've gone home from work, although I've learned to be careful how I say that, especially to someone who's not a transcriptionist. Another occasion where someone looked at me like they thought I was insane (who says I'm not?).

Having been in this profession for so long, I have also become able to spot the, "real," transcriptionists, so they are called by the veterans. You judge for yourself. The, "real," transcriptionists actually enjoy sitting and typing, plugged into headphones for hours on end. Production is their passion, and they pound away tediously, completely content, pausing only to look up words or do the ever necessary proofreading.

Then, (eyes rolling) there are the people who like to call themselves transcriptionists and end up irritating the life out of the rest of us who really are. They come to work chattering, they work chattering and they leave chattering. When your concentration is broken , it takes a few minutes to get back to that point. These guys rattle on and on about every doctor, every patient, every irrelevant detail they can think of to talk out loud about. This usually results in the serious transcriptionists staring steadily at the chatterbox and typing all the while (which is a real transcriptionist's talent akin to patting your head and scratching your stomach) until the offender notices they are being stared down by a clerical lynch mob and finally hush. Then, they give the rest of us that, "you're insane," look with a hint of, "I'm offended, I thought I was entertaining you guys."

A so-called transcriptionist who asks the same question three times in one week is usually dubbed an, "Alzheimer's patient." These people have a defective short-term memory and cannot remember what they were told or what they looked up for longer than a couple days. A good transcriptionist has a memory that never fails. The Alzheimer's patients are also the people who ask about a word out loud instead of looking it up. They get in as much trouble as the chatterboxes.

There are also the comedians who have to announce to everyone in the room something humorous (or is it humerus?) they heard in dictation. This produces a polite, very small smile from the rest of us while never missing a keystroke (or the lynch mob might gather), silently hoping the, "typist," would either hush or go home. To be labeled a typist is the strongest putdown that can be bestowed. You see, a typist is someone who mechanically manipulates the keys on a keyboard, and nothing more. Your average monkey could accomplish this. They usually hunt and peck which produces a large silent grin (never missing a keystroke) from the rest of us that they never know about. A transcriptionist (harrumph!) is a professional with an extensive knowledge of medical terminology, editing, spelling, punctuation, English, word processing, pharmacology, lab and pathology, and sometimes foreign accent interpretation who melds all these abilities together seamlessly at 100 words per minute. We also have the necessary ability to communicate with each other with our eyes and expressions. As mentioned before, the professional transcriptionist is capable of transcribing and socializing silently at the same time.

Another valuable source of experience is the mental hospital. Let me explain! The patients there are usually required to have a general physical exam before they start having psychotherapy with their psychiatrists. In my mental hospital experience (as an employee, not a patient, mind you), I found the social histories fascinating. They read like good books and are very interesting.

I've always thought it would be risky for me or any transcriptionist to undergo general anesthesia because I just might spout someone's private information. Incidentally, knowing a celebrity's medical diagnoses is unnerving, not exciting, especially if it's something like a sexually transmitted disease or a mental problem. Public figures and movie stars see doctors also; they are not immune needing medical treatment. Needless to say, that's all the details I'll put in this particular paragraph, citing confidentiality! You can't be a transcriptionist and play Rona Barrett or a reporter for the National Enquirer.

When I worked in medical records in a mental hospital, I found that mental illness can strike anyone at any time. In this job, the psychiatrists (shrinks) visit their patients every day and dictate daily progress notes. Now, you have a serial TV show-type situation where every day there are new developments. When we heard that old familiar whir and click of the machine activating, we waited anxiously like housewives waiting for their favorite soap opera to come on. The machine would stop and the lucky one of us to grab the dictation first would tell us the news (only within the transcription room, mind you!) Some patients sank deeper and deeper into insanity, and others made a wonderful recovery. Just a bit of trivia; shrinks have the most entertaining sense of humor of all doctors I have ever known.

Back to maintaining confidentiality, this includes not repeating to anyone the statements or innuendoes made on the dictation whether knowingly or accidentally by the dictator. A word of advice: don't dictate in bed. If someone remembers something they need to dictate after climbing into bed, then they should get up before dictating and be doubly sure the recording has ended lest they document whatever else takes place in their bed and who it takes place with! Sorry, no more details with this one, except to mention that dictating right after you eat can provide the transcriptionist with some entertainment, accidental or not. Everyone should remember, most recorders pick up all sound that occurs in the room, and some dictators foolishly think they are, "alone," in the room even when the recorder is running. We don't type in "eructation," or "flatus;" we just laugh and report it to everyone in the room. For the aspiring transcriptionist, look up eructation and flatus, and get a good laugh. Due to events described in this paragraph, there are doctors I can't look in the eye any more and they don't know why.

So many good experiences, so little space. I'll sign off now with no chief complaints, only a review of systems within wonderful limits and a bright prognosis. See you in a follow-up visit!

Managing Professional Liability Costs With Peer Review

If your hospital is like many across the nation, you're facing a crisis in being able to manage your professional liability costs in the face of rising lawsuits and rapidly increasing premiums. What's the root cause of this problem? Well obviously it's lawsuits coming from patients who have experienced sentinel events or negative outcomes such as deaths, hospital readmissions, etc. While these patients and their families are entitled to relief in certain circumstances when medical treatments go bad, the fact is that most hospital administrators are being crushed by the rise in liability costs.

If you are a hospital administrator or CEO and looking for remedies in this regard there are a number of things that you can be doing. First and foremost is taking a holistic look at your quality of care delivery system and in particular, look at your quality management system. Taking an outside assessment of your quality management system can provide insight to where your potential root causes are that are leading to sentinel events and in turn produce the kind of litigation and lawsuits that drive insurance premiums up.

These premiums don't get driven up only by actions in your own hospital but by actions across the board in all hospitals. In our litigious society today it's no secret that when people feel that a service provider (particularly in the medical environment) has wronged them, their first impulse is to find a litigious, fee hungry attorney who is willing to take on a malpractice suit or a suit against the hospital on contingency. Since it doesn't cost them anything to sue, it's very easy for them to get started.

Who bares the brunt on these costs? In general, ultimately consumers do as well as health plans, hospital providers - everybody suffers under an overly litigious system which rewards people for bringing suits against others. If you are a hospital in today's environment there is no question that liability insurance premiums are on the rise and are going to continue to escalate. The exception is those hospitals that can demonstrate the absolute best practices when it comes to quality management.

We talk to hundreds of hospitals across the country every week. In our dealings with them we've come to realize that liability insurance carriers who are protecting hospitals are increasingly either requiring or strongly recommending that their risk management professionals insist upon sending all sentinel events out for external peer review. Why is this? The fact is that hospital peer review is rapidly becoming a best practice for insuring rapid case resolution, root cause analysis of sentinel events, and illuminating conflicts of interest when it comes to insuring quality and patient safety.

It's no secret that all insurance companies expend a certain percentage of their revenues on helping their clients to improve their practices in order to reduce costs when it comes to risk management. Professional liability insurers who operate in the hospital group space are using peer review as another strategy to help their clients lower their experience ratio and improve the root cause analysis that leads to a reduction in sentinel events.

The external medical peer review process when integrated into a hospital quality management system provides an outstanding remedy to the professional liability insurance premium escalations that have now turned into a crisis in so many states across America. If you're a CEO or hospital administrator looking for ways to reduce your risk and reduce your liability premiums so that you can reduce the costs of providing services to your patients and your local population, consider an investment in an external review process every time you have a sentinel event that has a potential for litigation. Often times by sending cases out for external peer review, you can prevent any potential lawsuit by insuring that nothing was done wrong by your medical professionals and hospital staff that lead to a particular sentinel event.

Book Review: The Greatest Hoax by Sen James Inhofe

U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe's long promised book, The Greatest Hoax: How the Global Warming Conspiracy Threatens Your Future is finally finished. It was published by WND Books, which has published other grand conspiracy books such as The Late Great USA: The Coming Merger with Mexico and Canada. The book will certainly be a hit with some lobbyists, politicians and corporate leaders. It may also be popular among scientists as it reveals some interesting things about Sen. Inhofe and gives scientists an opportunity to examine his ideas and arguments.

Sen. Inhofe has served as the mayor of Tulsa and is the senior Senator from Oklahoma. He has been a strong advocate for many of his constituents and he has been a strong critic of the lack of openness of some congressional procedures. He was instrumental in getting federal Superfund money to clean up the Pitcher lead mines in northeastern Oklahoma. A large area of northeastern Oklahoma was affected and millions of dollars have been spent to try to mitigate the environmental damage. No one knew at the time that lead was toxic, and Pitcher is a perfect example of how what you don't know can hurt you and be costly.

Sen. Inhofe has often stated Global warming is a hoax, but proving that may be difficult. Every major scientific organizations in the world has adopted a statement similar to that of the American Chemical Society: "Careful and comprehensive scientific assessments have clearly demonstrated that the Earth's climate system is changing rapidly in response to growing atmospheric burdens of greenhouse gases and absorbing aerosol particles. There is very little room for doubt that observed climate trends are due to human activities. The threats are serious and action is urgently needed to mitigate the risks of climate change." A 2010 Stanford University poll of 1,372 climate scientists found that 97-98% of the climate researchers most actively publishing in climate science agree that global warming is occurring and man activities are the main factor. The Greatest Hoax tries convincing us otherwise by quoting media sources, politicians, lobbyist, and the 2-3% of the scientists who claim to be skeptics, though some receive substantial rewards for being skeptical. Legitimate science is based upon evidence and reason, but many of the ideas put forward in this book are not.

Politics: Sen. Inhofe says: "I am not a scientist. I do understand politics. "He says he went into politics because a Tulsa city engineer would not approve his request to move a fire escape on his building. Mr. Inhofe told him that he was going to run for mayor and fire him when he won. And he did. It is possible that the engineer was following the building code adopted by the city's elected officials, and that there may have been a good reason to leave the fire escape where it was, such as it being easily assessable in case of a fire. That incident, however, explains Senator Inhofe's attitudes toward regulations, regulators, and scientists whose research show the need for regulations. It also explains the Senators approach to regulations. He sees them as an impediment to business but he does not see that most regulations are developed to protect the public. One of his favorite targets is the EPA, which was created by Pres. Nixon to protect the environment. Sen. Inhofe chose to work on the Senate's Environmental and Public Works (EPW) committee so he could protect businesses from what he considers needless environmental regulations.

The Hoax: Sen. Inhofe was apparently convinced "global warming is a hoax" by one of the worse hoaxes in recent Congressional history. It started when Dr. Willie Soon managed to get a paper through the peer review process at Climate Reviews with the help of an editor sympathetic to his views. The paper reviewed the literature on climate science, and concluded that the global warming in the 20th century was not unusual and that natural forces, rather than man's activities was the cause. An important piece of his evidence was the Medieval Warm Period, which he claimed was warmer than the latter 20th century. But there was something wrong with the paper. There were no accurate temperature records in Medieval Times, the Americas had not yet been discovered, and much of the Southern hemisphere was unknown. Dr. Soon's paper contradicted the evidence from hundreds of other peer-reviewed papers. It caused quite a furor at Climate Reviews which ended with 3 members the editorial board resigning in protest and the newly hired chief editor stating the paper had serious errors and should never have been published. The EPA was unwilling to include the paper in its assessment of climate science, so Sen. Inhofe scheduled a meeting of the EPW committee to examine the paper.

Shortly before the meeting, the American Geophysical Union (AGU) issued a press release from 13 of the scientists whose work was used in Dr. Soon's paper, saying the paper distorted their research. At the hearing, Michael Mann represented the scientific viewpoint, presenting evidence from multiple sources showing that the Medieval Warm period was not worldwide and resulted only in a small hump in the temperature record. Soon stood behind his work and testified that he had not received any funds that might have biased his objectivity. However, the paper lists the American Petroleum Institute as a major source of funding and documents received since from the Smithsonian Institution in response to FOIA requests, revealed that since 2001 Dr. Soon has received over $1 million in funding from oil and coal interests. Sen. Inhofe was upset by the turn of events and tried to get him fired - Michael Mann that is. At Sen. Inhofe's insistence, the University of Pennsylvania, a Quaker University, has conducted 2 investigations into Dr. Mann's research and found no misconduct. A 2010 Science article reviewed the investigations, declaring "Michael Mann is cleared, again. " Dissatisfied with the ruling, Sen. Inhofe has tried to get the attorney general to charge Michael Mann with fraud. Sadly, for the first time in history, scientists are collecting a legal defense fund to defend scientists against political attacks. And even worse, the scientific opinion of the senior member of our Environmental and Public Works committee is apparently based on a paper that would not pass freshman English.

Endorsement: The Greatest Hoax was endorsed by Dr. R.M. Carter, a paleontologist from Australia, who was the star witness at Sen. Inhofe's 2006 Senate hearing on Climate Change and the Media. No credible members of the media testified, and one might wonder why Sen. Inhofe would be interested in the media bias in Australia. Dr. Carter was likely there because he could be counted on to testify that historically the rise in global temperatures had always preceded rising carbon dioxide concentration; thus some natural cause must be releasing the carbon dioxide that is causing the temperature to rise. He was right about the role of carbon dioxide in increasing the Earth's temperature, but he rather ignored the possibility that the CO2 concentration was rising because the burning of fossil fuels was releasing 30 billion tons of CO2 annually.

After the hearing, Dr. Carter was challenged by climatologists to produce research showing the natural variability he claimed, but the paper he belatedly produced was soon refuted when significant errors were found in his reasoning. Though two of the four scientists who testified at the hearing were skeptics, all four agreed that the Earth had warmed about 1°C in the last century. Sen. Inhofe's own hearing had clearly refuted his claim: "Global warming is a hoax." That was of little concern to Sen. Inhofe, as the main purpose of the hearing was to intimidate members of the press - as if that were needed.

Science: There is little science in the book, though much of the book is dedicated to discrediting science and scientists by quoting friends of his from the Heartland Institute, media personalities, and other politicians. He even sets up Al Gore as a strawman for scientists. In the book's introduction, he displays a rather tasteless picture of Al Gore naked, and considerable space is devoted to vilifying him. That is a shame as Al Gore has served as a respected Senator, Vice President, and as a Presidential candidate came within a few hundred votes of being elected. Al Gore received a Nobel Peace Prize for his environmental work and his movie, An Inconvenient Truth, won an Oscar. The movie also had its day in court and won. Interestingly, the same Dr. Carter, who endorsed the book, was the star witness for the plaintiff in Dimmock v Secretary of State for Education, a suit which sought to prevent the educational use of An Inconvenient Truth in England. The court apparently did not agree with Dr. Carter and ruled that, though the film had some errors, it was substantially founded upon scientific research and fact and could be shown. Sen. Inhofe claims to be a free market capitalist, but he seems to take great umbrage that Al Gore has profited from his investments in green energy, apparently without realizing that most of those profits have been dedicated to promoting conservative causes, such as protecting the Earth.

Though he may be a skilled politician, in the partisan sense, Sen. Inhofe is correct when he says "I am not a scientist." He does not understand how scientific knowledge from many fields fits together to form a consistent view of nature. For instance, the book tells that after a large snowfall in Washington D.C., his grandchildren built an igloo and put up a sign: "Al Gore's New Home". Sen. Inhofe used the picture to denounce global warming alarmism, though he should know that a single weather event proves nothing. And, if he were a scientist, he might understand how the warming oceans increase the probability of a record snowfall in Washington D.C., making the igloo possible - and how carbon dioxide has made more probable the record heat waves in Texas and Oklahoma, making droughts and wildfires possible.

Sen. Inhofe shows he does not understand how science works when he brings up the "Coming Ice Age" story to discredit the scientific evidence. The argument goes, "How can you trust science, when in the 1970s the scientists were predicting the coming of a new Ice Age, but now scientists claim that the Earth is warming?" In the 70's, scientists found that increased industrialization was causing not only an increase in particulates, which would cause global cooling, but also an increase in CO2, which would increase global warming. There was no consensus among scientists about which effect would predominate. A count of scientific papers in that decade showed that only 7 journal articles predicted that the global average temperature would continue to cool, while 44 papers indicated that the average temperature would rise. The research on global cooling was valuable as it showed a nuclear war was unwinnable as particulates from a nuclear exchange might create a nuclear winter, ending life on Earth as we know it.

Scientific controversies are usually settled by the evidence, but this one was settled by the intervention of man. Particulates are visible and have serious health consequences. By 1980, regulations were in place to limit particulate emissions and, as that happened, the temperature of the Earth began increasing again. The fossil fuel companies became alarmed, as it was becoming apparent that we should also limit carbon emissions to keep the Earth's temperature at equilibrium, so they began a propaganda campaign to convince us that carbon dioxide was harmless. If you believe that, remember the lesson of Pitcher, Oklahoma. What you don't know can hurt you and be very costly.

Cap and Trade: Sen. Inhofe claims that cap and trade is the "crown jewel" of a global conspiracy of scientists, Hollywood stars, and media personalities who want to take away your freedom and create a world government. However, cap and trade was devised by free-market conservatives for President Reagan, who used it successfully to stop the acid rain drifting into Canada from our Northeastern power plants. It was part the Clean Air Act signed into law by President Bush I and many prominent Republicans, including John McCain, have supported it. Cap and trade is considered to be the market solution to reducing carbon emissions. It is described by the EPA as "an environmental policy tool that delivers results with a mandatory cap on emissions while providing sources flexibility in how they comply. Successful cap and trade programs reward innovation, efficiency, and early action and provide strict environmental accountability without inhibiting economic growth."Does that sound like it "Threatens Your Future", as the subtitle of the book claims? And, it cannot be making Al Gore rich - or be the cause of rising energy prices - as it has not yet been enacted for carbon emissions.

Costs: Sen. Inhofe main objection to environmental regulations is their tremendous cost; but an accurate analysis of costs and benefits are not in the book. He just claims that it would cost each U.S. household $3,100 a year, a cost that has great sticker shock, but is totally inaccurate. Dr. John Reilly, the MIT economist whose work was used to arrive at that number, has publicly criticized a Republican lobbyist for distorting his work to arrive at that inflated value. The Congressional Budget Office estimates that the cost of the cap-and-trade program by 2020 would average about $175 annually per household, and that associated savings would reduce the federal deficit by about $19 billion over the next decade. A recent report by the National Academy of Sciences details other high economic costs of inadequate environmental legislation, such as reduced streamflow, rainfall, and crop yields. Yet Congress has refused to act on the matter.

Also, Sen. Inhofe seems to have left some important items out of his balance sheet, such as the true cost of using fossil fuels. The true cost of a resource should include repairing damage caused by its use and disposing of the waste. We are in effect subsidizing the fossil fuel industry by allowing them to freely discharge their wastes into the environment. Some of the "true costs" of fossil fuel use, such as health and environmental costs can be estimated. Nicholas Stern, former chief economist of the World Bank and one of the world's top economists, has used the results from formal economic models to examine the potential cost of failure to limit our carbon emissions. He estimates that the overall costs and risks of climate change will be equivalent to losing at least 5% of global Gross Domestic Product (GDP) each year, now and forever. If a wider range of risks and impacts is taken into account, the cost of mitigation and damages could rise to 20% of GDP or more in the future - and we would run the additional risk of an environmental catastrophe.

Taking 5% of the US GDP for 2010, would give an environmental cost of $727 billion. As to health costs, the American Lung Association estimates that the EPA's proposed guidelines for particulates could prevent 38,000 heart attacks and premature deaths, 1.5 million cases of acute bronchitis and aggravated asthma, and 2.7 million days of missed work or school. They estimate the economic benefits of reduced exposure to particulates alone could reach as much as $281 billion annually. Those two add up to about $1.08 trillion. The calculations do not include all the environmental and health costs, but they do show about how much we are subsidizing the fossil fuel industries by ignoring the damage to people's health and the environment.

Sen. Inhofe, in his Rachel Maddow interview, stated that the cost of cap and trade would be $30-$40 billion annually. That is about 1/30 of what the environmental and health costs might eventually be. Then, it is rather hard to put a value on those premature deaths or the added risk of environmental catastrophes. The number of billion-dollar weather disasters has increased fivefold over the last 30 years, and insurance giants such as Suisse Re now consider man-made global warming real, and a risk factor in setting insurance rates. Increased insurance rates will be an additional out of pocket cost, which could easily offset the $175 the CBO estimated that cap and trade would cost.

Scientists: To get around the strong consensus of scientists, the book claims there is a global conspiracy of liberal scientists bent on creating a world government, that climate science is a religion, that climate scientists are in it for the money, and that Climategate proves climate scientists are dishonest. None of those claims are supported by verifiable evidence. Most scientists are good citizens, conservative in their statements and actions. Most are religious, with stewardship and concern for their fellow man being part of their religion. The Presbyterian church, where Senator Inhofe claims membership, stated in 1989 and reaffirmed in 2008, its "serious concern that the global atmospheric warming trend (the greenhouse effect) represents one of the most serious global environmental challenges to the health, security, and stability of human life and natural ecosystems."

The book calls climate scientists "alarmists" in a derogatory sense, but many are becoming alarmed. Research shows that the Earth's climate is changing because of our emissions of CO2, yet Congress has not acted to solve the problem. Scientists were criticized for considering the problem catastrophic, but they realize our carbon emissions will have an affect for 100 years or more into the future and inaction will threaten our food and water supply, increase the risk of severe weather events, and a possibly lead to an environmental catastrophe. Remember what happened at Pitcher, Oklahoma because lead mining was considered harmless.

Sen. Inhofe often calls those who disagree with him "liberals", but the meaning of liberal and conservative seem to be flexible. During the American Revolution, it was the liberals who wanted to create a democracy and conservatives who thought that King George had a divine right to rule. Sen. Inhofe uses "liberals" to describe environmentalists and others who want to preserve the earth - and uses "conservatives" for those who want to conserve power and profits.

He describes Rachel Maddow as one of his favorite liberals, but that may change. In his book he said "Rachel's segment was one of the last major efforts to go after me just days before I landed in Copenhagen and declared vindication." However in his recent interview on Rachel's show, she showed the clip. Nowhere in the clip does it mention Copenhagen or climate change. Rather than apologize, he said he couldn't remember everything he said in the 350 pages of fine print in the book, raising questions about how much of the book he actually wrote. Apparently liberal can also mean "pesky".

Big Oil: Sen. Inhofe tells some good stories of the old days in the Oklahoma oilfields, but back then Tulsa was the Oil Capital of the World and our domestic oil producers were a different breed from today's multinational oil companies. They have little loyalty to the United States and little concern for our citizens or the environment. They have created some of the greatest man-made environmental disasters and resisted compensating their victims fairly. After the furor over the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, BP's CEO commented "I want my life back", but he could not give back the 11 lives lost because of his decisions. Although he promised to compensate Americans damaged by the oil spill, BP appointed a lawyer to disperse the funds, who made many of the victims "take it or leave it" offers. After the Exxon Valdez oil spill, Exxon Mobil went all the way to the Supreme Court to avoid paying the $5 billion in damages owed the native Alaskans. Koch oil was charged in Oklahoma of cheating Native Americans and the government out $5 billion in oil royalties. They settled the case out of court for a 10th of the $5 billion, with no admission of wrongdoing. Who says crime doesn't pay?

Last year, the world's 5 largest oil companies received $24 billion in tax break subsidies. Yet, they reported $171 billion in profits, while most US businesses and citizens struggled with financial losses, in part caused by the steep rise in fuel prices. Sen. Inhofe says his goal is "energy self-sufficiency" for the United States, yet last year the leading US export was fuels, so Big Oil companies are selling American oil abroad, creating a shortage in the United States that is driving up prices. Increasing their profits is their main goal, even though carbon emissions may cause a man-made environmental disaster much greater than oil spills. To defend their profits, these companies are now the major contributors to the science denial machine that Sen. Inhofe defends in his book.

Heartland Foundation: Sen. Inhofe was able to poke fun at himself when he said" Nature strikes back", referring to a serious illness he contacted while swimming in a lake contaminated with toxic blue-green algae, whose growth was fueled by water pollution and the heat wave and Oklahoma. The illness caused him to miss the meeting of the Heartland Institute where he was to be a keynote speaker. His relation to the Heartland Institute is troubling. The Heartland Institute, once a major source of propaganda designed to prove there was no link between smoking, cancer, and lung disease, has now turned its considerable experience and resources into producing propaganda disputing the link between carbon emissions and global warming. Big Oil provides much of the funding for the Heartland Institute, and other similar "conservative" think tanks, who channel millions of dollars into the denial of science. The Heartland Institute is a gathering place for Big Oil's lobbyists, loyal politicians, and paid skeptics. Many of those are the sources of information for Sen. Inhofe's book. How accurate is that information likely to be?

Skeptics: Science values its skeptics as they make science strong by pointing out areas that need more investigation, and they sometimes making valuable contributions to science. When Richard Muller questioned NASA's temperature records, he evaluated all 6 billion pieces of weather station data, and came to the conclusion that the temperature record was accurate. When O'Donnell doubted Steig's work showing Antarctica was warming, he re-analyzed the data and found that indeed Antarctica, the coldest place on Earth, was getting warmer.

Skeptics are expected to follow the methodologies and the ethics of science, to subject their work to review by their peers, and to divulge conflicts of interest. Many of those Sen. Inhofe praises as "climate skeptics" do not meet those criteria. They profit from being skeptical and, when research shows them wrong, they continue to repeat their skeptical arguments anyway. An example is Anthony Watts, who started the Surface Station Project to examine the data from weather stations, which he claimed had errors. The AGU took his skepticism seriously and did a thorough study on the weather stations, finding the data was reliable. They had offered Watts a chance to participate in the research, but he missed his chance to be a scientist when he refused. And though the question has been answered, Mr. Watts is still repeating the same criticisms - and collecting substantial donations to continue his Surface Station Project. There are many skeptics like Mr. Watts, who receives generous grants from think tanks, not for fundamental research, but to come up with ideas to cast doubt on the IPCC, climate research, and the work of legitimate scientists. Many of the paid skeptics appear in Sen. Inhofe's book as his sources for information, quotes, and references.

Vindication: In this chapter of the book, Sen. Inhofe claims vindication, but it is hard to imagine sufficient vindication for displaying a picture of Al Gore naked. Sen. Inhofe does claim he is vindicated by the Climategate e-mails. Hackers broke into the computers of England's Hadley Climatic Research Unit (CRU), and stole 10 years of e-mails exchanged between the scientists. Quotes from the stolen e-mails were taken out of context, distorted, and released to media sources with claims the CRU scientists engaged in illegal and unethical acts. As of today, eight independent formal investigations have been completed and none have found any scientific misconduct by the scientists involved. The incident was dubbed "Climategate", but it was in no way like Watergate. In Wategate, the thieves were caught and punished and those who masterminded the plot were publicly disgraced. In Climategate, the thieves have been hailed by some skeptics as heroes - and the victims of the theft have been vilified. It seems strange that Scotland Yard is searching for the hackers, while Sen. Inhofe is gleefully helping spread the misinformation. So, rather than being like Watergate, the e-mail scandal was actually more like Stargate, fictional fantasy. The accusations of wrongdoing by some of the skeptical scientists, made before the matter could be investigated, were particularly egregious as scientist's ethical codes say that:" Public comments on scientific matters should be made with care and precision, without unsubstantiated, exaggerated, or premature statements."

Winning: Sen. Inhofe claims he is winning, but he can't be talking about the scientific debate. All the world's major scientific organizations think he is losing, as do 97 - 98% of the climate scientists, and 83% of American voters. A 2011 Stanford poll found that 83% of Americans say that global warming is happening with 88% of Democrats and 54% of Republicans saying it is the result of human action. Attacking scientists may prove to be contrary to the Republican party's best interest. While polls find scientist's trustworthiness is highly rated , with 84% having a favorable view of scientists, Congress' approval has now dropped to around 9%. This may be indicative of the public's dissatisfaction with the partisanship and gridlock in Congress, occurring for reasons well on display in this book.

Although some members of Congress and some of the public may listen to Sen. Inhofe, nature doesn't. No matter how much he claims "hoax", research shows the climate is changing in response to man's activities. The amount of CO2 in the atmosphere is increasing, the temperature of the Earth is rising, the oceans are becoming more acidic, glaciers and polar ice caps are melting, sea levels are rising, the probability of severe weather events is increasing, and weather-related natural disasters are becoming more frequent and more costly. It's time we examine more closely who is actually winning by ignoring science.

Aftershock: The Next Economy And America's Future by Robert B Reich - Current Affairs Book Review

America's economic Crash of 2008 was directed almost universally at Wall Street. In his September release, entitled, Aftershock: The Next Economy And America's Future, Robert B. Reich argues differently. He believes the real problem is structural: There's an increasing concentration of wealth at the top, while middle class Americans struggle to maintain a decent standard of living.

Reich served in three national administrations, most recently as Secretary of Labor under President Clinton. He's written numerous books, and is a university professor of public policy.

Three stages of modern American capitalism substantiate Reich's message. The first stage (1870-1929) was one of increasing concentration of income and wealth. Stage two (1947-1975), featured more broadly shared prosperity; and stage three (1980-2010) is one of increasing wealth concentration. Reich says it's vital for our future to begin a fourth stage where broad-based prosperity reigns.

Reich profiles Marriner Eccles, a business tycoon during the Great Depression. Largely forgotten today, Reich believes Eccle's analysis of the underlying economic stresses of the Great Depression are relevant to the Crash of 2008. His assumption of a quick national recovery proved wrong, as we know today. President Roosevelt summoned him to Washington DC to share his financial acumen which was based on logic and experience.

Eccles chaired the Federal Reserve Board from 1934 to 1948 (the Eccles Building on Constitution Avenue in Washington DC is his memoriam). History repeats itself today, as there's a vast accumulation of income among the nation's wealthiest people. The result is everyone else experiences reduced purchasing power.

The basic bargain gave workers a proportionate share of the fruits of economic growth. Average workers had enough purchasing power to buy what they produced.

The Great Prosperity years (1947-1975), found America as a whole, implementing the basic bargain. Almost everyone who wanted a job could find one with good wages or at least wages that were trending upward. The US government created the conditions for the middle class to fully share in the nation's prosperity.

Americans developed three coping mechanisms Reich says, to combat the growing concentration of wealth, which today are ineffective. They are:

Women move into paid work. Starting in the late 1970's, women began working to supplement family incomes and offset stagnant or declining male- earned wages. Today, the point of diminishing returns exists, as the cost of hiring outside help or childcare exceeds the apparent benefits of the additional income.
Everyone works longer hours. A growing number of people took on two or three jobs, each demanding 20 or more hours. Now, even if they can find more work, they can find no more time.
We draw down savings and borrow to the hilt. During the Great Prosperity, the American middle class saved about 9 percent of their after-tax income. In 2008, it slid to 2.6 percent. By 2008, the typical American household owed 138 percent of its after-tax income. Middle class consumers took on huge amounts of debt as a last resort. Median wages had stopped growing and the proportion of total income going to the middle class shrank.

The Great Recession officially began in December 2007. The biggest difference between it and the Great Depression is what happened next after the bubbles burst. The Great Depression inspired government policies that led to new economic order. Social insurance, improvements in the nation's infrastructure, schools, public universities, and other initiatives, created a more secure, prosperous and productive America. The Great Recession has produced no new economic order.

"Technically, the Great Recession has ended," says Reich, "But its aftershock has only begun." Reich says jobs will return over time, however they'll provide lower wages than Americans are accustomed to.

Globalization and outsourcing of American jobs overseas are often blamed for the nation's high unemployment rate. But, Reich reminds us, those factors don't tell the whole story. Automation is key too, as many service jobs including bank tellers and telephone operators are now extinct.

Based on current national conditions, Reich forecasts Election 2020. The platform of the Independent Party could triumph, with its "clear and uncompromising message." Included are zero tolerance of illegal immigration, increased tariffs on all imports and abolishment of The Federal Reserve Board. Its extreme agenda would be detrimental to US interests home and abroad.

Americans will become increasingly outraged if the US economic system appears outrigged to favor the rich. Among their concerns are Wall Street bailouts, hefty political campaign contributions by the wealthy to protect their interests, and elite educational opportunities for privileged children.

Reich proffers nine primary solutions to help restore the basic bargain to middle class Americans. He admits that some of his proposals are initially costly, but, over time, the benefits outweigh financials. Three highlights include:

A reemployment system vs. an unemployment system. Today, most job losers never get their jobs back, and long-term unemployment is high. Implement wage insurance. Here, any job loser who accepts employment that pays less than his or her former position would be eligible for 90 percent of the difference for up to two years. By then, many workers would have acquired additional skills, rendering the reward of similar past pay.
Public goods. Sizably increase public goods such as public transportation, museums, libraries and recreational facilities. Keep them free vs. the trend in "user fees." Public goods improve quality of life and help partly compensate for stagnant or declining wages.
Money out of politics. As inequality has widened, large corporations, Wall Street, and their executives and traders have distorted political decisions with their hefty donations. Recent Supreme Court decisions protecting campaign contributions as forms of free speech need to be reversed. In the meantime, all political donations should go through a "blind trust," so that no candidate ever know who contributed what.

These are challenging times for our nation indeed, as we adjust to the growing pains of globalization. Despite housing foreclosures, continued high unemployment, lower earnings, less economic security, widening inequality and soaring pay on Wall Street, Reich concludes on a voice of optimism.

He emphasizes that America, when faced with a depression, an enveloping war and other moral urgencies, has always risen to the occasion. "We will choose reform, I believe, because we are a sensible nation, and reform is the only sensible option we have."

Product Review - UK Paye And Payroll Software

DIY Accounting Payroll Software is written on a series of excel spreadsheet templates.

Small business payroll solution available in the UK for up to 5 employees, up to 10 employees and a third version of the payroll for up to 20 employees.

The basic details of each employee are entered on an Employee Details worksheet including personal details such as name, address, starting date, income tax code and national insurance details. Details which every employer needs to maintain anyway to satisfy the requirements of operating a paye scheme. The payroll software then uses the pay data entered such as income tax code and dates and national insurance dates to calculate the income tax deductions and national insurance contributions of both employee and employer. Once the employee details have been entered running a paye system couldn't be easier.

The payroll software pre-enters each employee's name on the payroll each week or month and simply entering the employee gross pay triggers the payroll to automatically calculate income tax and national insurance contributions including the employers' national insurance contribution using the standard income tax and national insurance tables which are embedded within the files supplied with the payroll software system.

Having calculated the net pay the payroll software then goes that extra step and automatically completes the time consuming paye deduction sheets, all arranged in the same appearance as the official inland revenue deductions sheet for recording income tax and national insurance deductions. In addition also included in the employee paye section are copies of the employee P60 certificate, P45 if required and the P14 which is a summary of the pay, income tax and national insurance contributions made by each employee. This feature of the payroll software is extremely valuable in saving employers using the small business payroll solution a great deal of time in paye administration.

Many payroll software systems require the purchase of payslip stationery. The DIY Accounting payroll software is different in this respect. First of all the payslips are all generated automatically from the information in the payroll file which shows the weekly or monthly gross and net pay, income tax and national insurance and the gross numbers to date. The Payslips all preset on payslip templates can be printed at any time on normal A4 copy paper being another money saving feature of the paye solution.

The income tax and national insurance deducted throughout the financial year are automatically collected by the payroll software on an excel copy of the Employers Annual return, the P35. An excel copy in the same format as the inland revenue form which can be simply printed out enabling the payroll figures to then be entered and filed online for employers to both avoid late penalties and receive the online tax free bonus available.

The DIY Accounting Payroll Software is easily integrated into the DIY Accounting Software solutions for both self employed and limited companies when the payroll software files are saved in the same folder as the accounting files providing a complete accountancy solution for clients.

Payroll Software Weaknesses

The DIY Accounting payroll system does not deal with income tax K codes. The income tax code K is used infrequently being applicable to those employees whose taxable expenses exceed the income tax allowance and is often never seen by most employers.

Employer statutory sick pay and maternity leave require to be entered manually. Considered to be a minor weakness since these figures when applicable can be easily looked up on the employers CD-Rom as required.

The quoted package sizes of 5 employees, 10 employees and 20 employees include all employees during the year including new starters and leavers and it is important then to obtain a package likely to be in excess of the total number of expected employees to avoid changing the payroll solution during the financial year.

Pricing

At £14.99 the small business payroll software for up to 5 employees including starters and leavers is almost a giveaway price with many competitive products priced much higher. The 10 employee payroll version is £19.99 and the 20 employee payroll version just £24.99. Considering the paye administrative work the payroll systems save. The packages are not upgraded each year with employers purchasing the new package each financial year.

Conclusion

Exceptionally good value, the payroll system is very quick and easy to use and produces exactly what every employer requires from a small business payroll solution. Accurate income tax and national insurance contribution calculations, significant reduction in paye administration time, regular payslips for each employee, compliance with paye administrative requirements and the satisfaction and valuable tax free bonus prize of producing the payroll on time.

Terry Cartwright is a qualified accountant in the UK designs Payroll Software solutions for small to medium sized business that automates the calculation of Income Tax and National Insurance contributions producing a complete Payroll solution for 1 to 20 employees.

Team National MLM Home Business Review

Team National Review - What is Team National?

Team National, also sometimes referred to as National Companies, is a debt-free network marketing company (or MLM home business) founded in 1997 by Dick Loehr. Located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the company is a legitimate business as evidenced by their multiple designations and associations: members of the Direct Selling Association (DSA), a Registered Member of Dunn & Bradsteet (D&B), a Member of the US Chamber of Commerce and a Member of the Better Business Bureau of Southeast Florida (BBB), with strong endorsements from people like best selling author & leadership development coach John Maxwell, among others.

The Team National MLM Home Business "Product":

While most MLM home business companies market a product or service to generate revenue, Team National is different in that it markets a membership, saving people money on a wide variety of products and services in over 20 different industries. Since 1997, total membership and product sales is approaching $1 billion.

The idea behind developing a company to provide benefits and services - now called membership savings - came as Dick envisioned an MLM home business program allowing anyone who owns a membership package to enjoy similar discount buying power as a Fortune 500 company. Starting with only a few basic discounts - savings on oil changes and new car purchases - the Team National MLM home business now offers substantial savings on everything from small everyday items (household goods, business supplies, eye-ware, etc) to larger once-in-a-while type items like jewelry, home furnishings and vehicles.

They break up the savings into 4 different divisions:

1. Factory Direct (up to 65% savings on items like jewelry and home furnishings)

2. Group Buying Power - savings on:

New and used cars, parts and service; motorcycles, ATVs, personal watercraft, etc
Financial services - home mortgage, wealth planning, debt management
Health discount benefit plans - vision, dental, hearing, teledoc, chiropractic, etc
Rental Vehicles
Communication & Entertainment Services - long distance, phone, hi-speed internet, satellite, etc
Business savings - credit card processing, check processing, etc
Travel Services
Insurance Services
An exclusive product line - automotive, nutritional supplements, skin care, etc

3. Business Exchange - save at thousands of local and small businesses across the country

4. E-Commerce - up to 30% commissions from over 100 popular and brand-name retail stores with a Team National website

The Team National MLM Home Business Opportunity:

Although the company's membership program clearly demonstrates great value and is rather unique in the industry, distributors - or IMDs (Independent Marketing Directors) as they're referred to - who focus primarily on selling the membership or aspects of the membership in order to get sales will not make much money with Team National. As with all MLM home businesses, MLM and internet home based businesses, creating a long-term, thriving, walk-away residual income requires leverage in the form of team building. By building teams, you're able to leverage your efforts, time, resources and energy to get not just a few membership packages purchased, but rather to get hundreds and thousands of memberships purchased through your network or team from which you receive your override so-to-speak (just like a real estate or insurance broker receives an "override" on the sales of their agents).

The optional earnings (Team National compensation plan) they offer is also one of the better ones in the industry due to the amount of money Team National pays out. This is because the company pays out 72% of the memberships back to the Independent Marketing Directors in the form of commissions and bonuses with their hybrid binary structure. This unusually high compensation amount is due to the fact that there is no product markup or profit margin added onto the price of the membership. The membership value comes from the large volume of Team National members which enables the company to negotiate these savings based on the group's high-volume buying power (similar to a co-op). Each new membership sold doesn't really incur any direct cost to the company (as opposed to companies that are primarily product-based which obviously incur the cost of producing, manufacturing and shipping the products they market). This again is one main advantage Team National has over its rivals in the industry.

Highlights of the Team National MLM Home Business compensation plan:

As discussed previously, the Team National business model as with most network marketing companies, pays out the most for those who build teams (which in turn gets more memberships purchased). Using their hybrid-binary structure, they pay out between $25-$100 for every membership sale. In addition, Team National has created a points system where on average 4 membership sales in each leg of the binary will produce a $1,500 check as often as weekly (see compensation plan for exact details). This is strong compensation and as your team grows you earn additional legs (paycenters they call them) which each pays out an additional $2,500 when on average 4 sales are made on each of the paycenter's 2 legs. This can add up to substantial income for the serious business builder.

Again, it is crucial that when building a business with Team National you focus on leveraging your efforts through team building rather than putting on a salesman hat and trying to solely sell memberships. When you compare $25-$100 a sale to even $1,500 a week for virtually the same effort through team building it becomes rather obvious.

So how does someone in Team National go about building a profitable, income-producing team?

First, you must have a system in place to help you seek out and find qualified business partners to present the Team National business opportunity to. You can do this by just talking to people you know, or you can work your MLM home business smarter by leveraging the power of tools like the internet to help you find and sort through a virtually endless supply of potential prospects actively looking for an opportunity like the Team National MLM home business provides. Work smarter to multiply your results and income and get your business in front of more people to make more money (it's all a numbers game after all) or continue doing what you've always done if you want to continue to get the same results.

Don't miss out on the huge momentum and fortunes being created today in the MLM home business industry.

National Life Brokerage Marketing Review - NAILBA Independent Brokerage Agencies a Smash Hit

There are numerous national life brokerage marketing agency firms. Yet there are few like NAILBA, The National Association of Independent Life Brokerage Agencies, getting a review declaring them a smash hit. Find out what makes this linked collection of agencies such a unique brokerage organization.

Hearing National Life Brokerage Organization, makes you wonder if they are a two person shop, one individual giant private firm, a company marketing firm, or a group of independent life brokerage agencies. In my review of NAILBA, I can easy see it is the later. Although there are some similar brokerage groups, NAILBA has certainly taken a unique approach to recruiting and the services provided brokers. Thereby it has raised itself to maximum capabilities. The non-profit Organization wins, and the life independent wholesale agencies, the brokers, and the insurance companies all profit.

It pointed out to me three main things. The power of unification, the strength of diversity, and the fulfilled demand for personalized individual broker service. In 26 years of working with all types and variances of life, annuity, and health insurance marketing organization have I rarely seen all three key features merge seamlessly together. Even more amazing was the concept of keeping all the brokerage agencies independent. When I learned that this consisted of more than 350 member brokerage general agencies in the United States and Canada, I was even more impressed.

Searching further, I discovered how much the leadership had invested to make this mutually profitable. Most BGA's, Brokerage General Agencies, that I know very well or review, start with zero training assistance. As a member, three total tool kits are wisely made available as resource guides. In detail, they provide Brokerage Agencies to work more efficiently with their insurance providers. In addition, a resource guide is devoted to marketing their independent brokerage operation. Moreover, backbone is strengthened by illustrating how to increase the operational efficiencies of the participating members.

Product diversification is a key item to survival through an economic downturn. Fortunately, NAILBA and its members had the insight to not put all their eggs into a speculative basket, only to find their work cracked apart. With a base of around 100,000 independent brokers in the United States and Canada, I was not surprised to see that around a billion dollars of first year life insurance premiums are collected annually.

Since I am not aware of the breakdown, I can still give an awareness of the impact on insurance brokers. Although not all their insurance brokers write for them exclusively, as they are also independent, the figures I derived at were significant. If 70% of their producers were active, and writing in the United States that would total 70,000 producers. Reviewing my records, it indicates currently 490,000 brokers in the U.S. exist from the total base of 1,500,000 licensed agents.

This means one out of every 7 semi-independent agents or independent brokers are connected with marketing insurance through one of their life brokerage general agencies in the United States. It is difficult to get much stronger than this association of Brokerage General Agents. Collectively they are more powerful than many life insurance companies are. They have paved the way from a hazardous financial trail to a rewarding occupation for many agents to take. Thanks to NAILBA and others like them, agents today have an easier route to becoming independent.

How Does a Document Review Center Assist the Legal Process?

In a legal context, document reviewing concerns the examination of files, reports, and other written articles during the discovery phase of the legal process, the phase in which evidence is exchanged by both sides of a case to establish the basis on which the case will turn. Some cases involve little to no document reviewing, such as only the examination of police reports. But others involve document review that requires a special team of reviewers to help attorneys glean crucial information. There are two situations that generally call for a team of reviewers: documents that are lengthy, such as transcripts produced by an unusually high number of deponents, or documents whose contents require specialized expertise to understand, such as scientific materials.

The Benefits of a Document Review Center

Regardless of why an entity needs document analysis, it usually needs it fast, a situation that benefits from retaining review services through a legal support agency that offer review centers with the following benefits: 24-hour a day availability, secured card-key access, manned security stations, redundant power, pre-installed technology, private offices, kitchen facilities, Internet carousels, and office equipment. Law firms and corporations often find a review center by retaining support through a nationwide or worldwide court reporting agency. Unbeknownst to outsiders, top court reporter agencies do more than supply court reporting; they also offer various legal support services, one of which is document review.

The Advantages of Using a Court Reporting Agency

There are several advantages to using a court reporting agency for reviewing, but two stand out in particular: the agencies also offer documents retrieval, which is often the first step in the reviewing process; and they also offer complex litigation services to help with cases that feature one or more aspects that make them more difficult than normal cases, such as a large number of deponents, a narrow time frame within which to be brought to court, or the presence of voluminous and/or difficult to understand material. When entities seek analysis services through reporting agencies, they can receive the aid of complex litigation specialists that will perform reviews at a client location or one of the reporting agency's reviewing centers.

In addition to making sense economically, retaining document analysis through a court reporter agency is also beneficial due to the other services that an agency offers, which could prove beneficial to their clients in the future, such as temporary legal staff placement, various reporting technologies, deposition services, legal software training, case management, and video services, to name a few. To learn more about how an agency's services could improve your file and report analysis, call a nationwide reporting agency and discuss your current and anticipated legal support needs today.

In my research on the ideal legal document review center, I've found that the National Network of Document Review Centers sets the standard.

Review the Registry Information For the State Do Not Call Lists

To make it ever more complicated for telemarketers or solicitors is that some states merge their data with the National Do Not Call List. Other states have chosen to maintain their independence and do not match their phone numbers with the Federal Level.

What is the fine if I call someone on the list and they turn me in? Federal FTC Fines and the state do not call list, cost up to $11,000 per occurrence. How do I avoid fines, even if I am sure my prospect names are mostly on the do not call list. You OR the telemarketing firm must FIRST register the required information with the FTC before you calling start dialing that phone. Keep in mind that checking a few thousand phone numbers against both the state and national do not call list is more than a minor pain. Plus at a yearly cost of $62 per telephone area code it can bring up your marketing costs.

You have 3 solutions. The first is to take the chance and go ahead and make some calls. Remember that state do not call lists not only apply to consumer home numbers, but to businesses and business people as well. With some sales operations having an office in their home, it is difficult to distinguish between the two. The second chance is okay if you only market products in a couple area codes or one state. Get your forms signed, follow the rules, and get started calling. The third solution is the hiring of a professional telemarketing firm.

The telemarketing firm has probably filled out most of the forms, so adding your firm will not be hard. Plus they probably have already paid the costs they incurred for each additional area code they applied for. You have to now pay more for each lead they produce for you, and pass up the big chunk of prime candidates that are on the do not call list. However nowadays some super producing marketing firms paying up to $80.00 through various methods to obtain a lead, are ending up with an excellent return on their investment of $10 profit for ever $1 spent over a 3 year timeframe.

OUR PERSONAL TEST. We recently send 250,000 agent names into a reputable firm for phone matching. As most of these were successful people at residential addresses, we expected close to a 50% match rate. In additional we took the option that all phones found on either state or national do not call lists be removed. They firm warned us that our results would not be spectacular. The returned data was shocking, about 20,000 available phone prospects on the do not call list of our 250,000! This turned out to be a relatively high cost experiment!

About 50% of the sales marketing recruiters that do not conform their current marketing ways will disappear during the next 4 years. They will find more and more, the 2 cheapest ways of obtaining leads to hire agents are losing effectiveness at an alarming rate. If you want to keep your career alive, you can either (a) purchase a quality list of prospects for your products, and then have an outside telemarketing firm call them, (b) build a website using the tactic skills of a true master to bring you direct traffic, (c) buy expensive ad word internet advertising to get traffic, (d) find one of the couple remaining Email lists with integrity, or (e) do it the proven way, get the best mailing list matching your products, and send out expertly designed mail, checked by a knowledgeable person that know what message your piece must contain and how to phrase it.

Do not stand back and see your future devoured by the national and state do not call lists!
