If I Were President

I hadn't even finished my first cup of coffee while scanning through some recent FaceBook posts, and one caught my attention. I found myself responding to the posed question with a vehemence that I made myself stop, lest I anger my 3400 friends and found myself walking on eggshells as I left my office to retrieve my second cup of coffee knowing that a powerful blog was coming on.

The question was posed by a radio talk-show host named Matt Mittan, who broadcasts from Asheville, NC, and he often posts questions to his FB friends about current topics for their thoughts. This morning he posted this question: The Gov. of PA said that we are becoming a nation of wusses after the NFL suspended the game there this weekend, due to the major snow storm. Thoughts?

My response was instant and without need for thought. My reply: We're becoming a nation of wusses in so many ways...this is only a microcosm of the overall mentality of much of the American population. A bunch of babies wanting their bottles and blankies. I say get off your asses and get to work, whether it is playing a game in the snow for a gazillion dollars, or flipping burgers for minimum wage...which I have done and would do again if I needed to. I see 'help wanted' signs all over the place, but because they are not good enough...ugh. People need to change if we are to regain any self respect and return to the great nation we used to be...one of pride and hard work and individual responsibility. We never sucked our thumbs because of snow before. Maybe the NFL should end and take those burger-flipping jobs. Yes, a nation of wusses. I couldn't say it better myself.

I wanted to go on and on, but realized I would be going off topic, ever so slightly, and knew I'd catch hell from my own primarily Liberal base, who get angry if I post that I ate a lamb chop rather than some disgusting tofu blob. I can't even talk about the weather on FB without causing some 'global warming' fight to break out on my own page, when I never even brought up "that" subject. From "Wow, it's really cold outside", you can't believe the war that breaks out! Sometimes ridiculous and generally entertaining, these threads are extremely educational to read as it clearly indicates the mindsets of the people who surround me, every single day.

A nation of wusses. Ugh. What happened to us? When I was a teenager just out of high-school, I did not go on to college for many reasons. I moved out of my parents house and worked three minimum wage jobs to pay rent, and the bills that I had. I never once complained about the work I did, or the fact that I had to do it to survive except for the occasional "my feet really hurt", and my Granny would rub them for me. I was brought up to be self-reliant, responsible, hard-working and proud. I have never paid a bill late...not one single time. I have never lived beyond my means and have worked hard for every dime I have ever made.

I moved to Asheville, NC 16 years ago without a nickel in my pocket, virtually zero possessions (except my cat and my car) and knew nobody. I pounded the pavement and built a business out of blood, sweat and tears that now earns over $1,000,000.00 a year and employees some 40-50 people, and I have not had to lay a single one off or cut a dollar from their wages through this incredibly stressed economy. I had to use my entire savings to keep it afloat, but I did it, and am proud that my business survived. I did what I had to do, rather than cut and run, even though it left me broke. That is pride. And if God sees fit, I will rebound through continued hard work and determination. Many words describe me, but "wuss" is not one of them.

A nation of wusses. (side note: A friend of mine just told me that the Gov. of PA "went off" for about 45 minutes talking about all of this...I am excited to read the transcripts of his speech. I have a feeling I will be in complete agreement).

A nation of wusses. This profound truth has been bothering me so much. I returned from Florida the day after Christmas after visiting with my Papa, who was a WWII POW, and a man who I consider a hero. Brave, honorable, hard-working until he could work no more, and never a complaint. He is 92 and reaching the end of his days. I am glad he does not watch the news as he would be deeply ashamed of the decedents of the people he defended and sacrificed for in 1944.

My trip back was without radio or any music so that I could have the opportunity to meditate, think, ponder and fantasize about a world that is better than the one I now find myself in. This free-flowing thought brought me to a self-imposed question "What would I do if I were President of the United States? What would I change, how would I change it, and how would I express myself to the American public my philosophy and plans to restore our great nation?"

Before I knew it, I was making a speech to the entire country. It was obviously not written, but spoken from my mind, my heart and my soul. It all made perfect sense to me and covered all the important topics that are plaguing our country and its people. I will recount it here. Perhaps it will reach the eyes and ears of someone who will be able to hear it.

TO THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

First, please turn off these teleprompters. I do not have any desire to speak words that have been written for me. I believe a man or woman is only as good as their own word, and mine will come from me only, not from a speech-writer. I may fumble a few words here or there, but what you see is what you'll get. Whenever I speak with you, it will be words of integrity, first and foremost. I will not sugar-coat the issues, nor will I worry about being 'politically correct'. If your feelings get hurt along the way, so be it. Get over it.

What I do care about is the truth and finding solutions to the myriad problems that has turned a country that I am so lucky to have been born in, and so proud to represent into a country of wimps and babies and people who think they are entitled to anything and everything. This is the wrong path, and it will lead to the demise of our country and to your own demise, not to mention the destruction of any self-respect you may have left.

I wish to share with you my thoughts on each important issue that continues to eat away at our country and how I would correct them. Some of you will agree, and some will not. But those who don't are probably part of the problem, and serious self-reflection is strongly recommended if we are to get anywhere.

THE ECONOMY: I own a small business. I did not go to college to figure out how to start it, run it or have it be successful. The rules are elementary...make more than you spend. It is simple math. I learned it in First or Second grade. Addition and subtraction. If you made it through elementary school, you have these skills. We all do. These simple skills must be applied to our National economy. The current administration would love to run their business by figuring out how much they want to spend, and then charge you for it accordingly. As far as businesses go, it is my own experience that this is completely backwards. One must find out what income to reasonably expect, then set one's budget accordingly. Here the question is what is a reasonable income (tax) expectation.

It has been proven over and over again that the lower taxes are, the stronger the economy becomes. If I have lots of money, I spend lots of money. If I don't, I stop spending. More simple math. Obama surely wanted to end Bush tax cuts effective in a few days, but fortunately the Republicans put the breaks on that move. I find it interesting that now Obama is now taking some kind of 'credit' for this move when he had nothing to do with it. But I digress.

First, what we need to do is cut taxes across the board. And even more so for the wealthiest Americans and small businesses. They are the ones that spend the most, create the most private sector jobs and produce the most tax revenue for the government, even with significant cuts.

Second, we need to cut spending severely. No more free rides for able-bodied citizens. Period. No more pork-barrel spending. No more big government, lavish trips for heads of state to far off places on the people's dime, no more Czars to control entities that are none of their business. No more government bail-outs or stimulus packages...basically no more spending outside the absolute necessities that are required to make our country safely function. This includes keeping our military strong, our elderly and disabled cared for and our constitutional laws enforced. All other government programs would go by the way-side and become privatized if we want them to continue.

It is not the government's job to educate you, to feed you, to control you or to coddle you. This is your responsibility. It is our responsibility as individuals. What we have, we work for. When one of our neighbors are in need, we help where we can. But our neighbors must also learn to be responsible for themselves, and take whatever steps are necessary to become so.

HEALTHCARE: First, take responsibility for your health and well-being. Quit smoking, quit eating junk food, exercise and eat as healthily as you possibly can. Supplement your diet with multi-vitamins and minerals, essential fatty acids, digestive enzymes and pro-biotics. Just these steps will probably prevent you from becoming sick in the first place.

Regarding health insurance coverage, it is unconstitutional to force individuals to purchase it. But there are measures that must be taken to make it affordable to those who want it and need it. TORT reform. Elimination of medical malpractice suits is mandatory if we are to make insurance companies lower their premiums. Additionally, insurance companies are 'for profit' businesses. This is fine. But not from denial of coverage to people with pre-existing conditions. I would encourage that new non-profit insurance companies form to compete with the 'for-profit' companies. This competition would bring rates down even further the way healthy competition always does.

IMMIGRATION: It is clear that millions of people from around the world want to be citizens of this great country. I would want to be too. But there are laws and processes that need to be enforced and reinforced. I would start by making immigration requirements more specific to our country. Before one could even apply to become a legal resident of the U.S., they should be required to speak fluent English. The business I own is a school, and we are approved to accept foreign students with a Student Visa provided they pass an English language proficiency exam first. The same should apply to anyone wanting to live in this country. These individuals should uphold the laws and values of the United States, and live our way of life, and not expect special treatment, entitlements, multi-lingual signage, etc. If you want to be an American, you must become one.

For the illegal immigrants that are already here because we failed to enforce our own laws, we should provide immigration process offices across the country and give these people the opportunity to apply for American citizenship. The rules should include sufficient language skills, absolutely no criminal record, and proof that they can take care of themselves financially in every respect, or be sponsored by an American family or business. They should be required to pay taxes like everyone else and will receive the same protections and benefits that all American citizens receive. But nothing more. If these simple requirements are not met, they should be sent back to their homeland until they can meet them.

For anyone outside the United States that wish to become American Citizens, the same rules apply before one can enter this country. And our own laws should be strictly enforced from this point forward on all U.S. borders.

MILITARY: I love our men and women in service. I thank them every day. My father and grandfather were both in the service and I have nothing but respect for them. Their sacrifices are great and ongoing, even decades after their service for our country. I know many veterans who have scars so deep, they will never recover, and are treated by the VA like societal rejects rather than the heroes they truly are. Our government should spare no expense in caring for members of our military, past and present, and they should receive nothing but honor and high-quality care for their service.

As far as our military policing the world, I'd like to see an appropriate percentage of them return to our homeland and secure our borders. And in areas that present danger to our country, our military should remain deployed and active so long as the treat exists. But it must be a real threat, not a smoke-screen for an oil cache or some other ulterior motive. Our Generals and foot soldiers should be held equally to the highest standards as should our Commander in Chief. Our president should always live up to this honored title. And if he or she cannot do so with the utmost integrity, he or she should be immediately replaced by someone who can. I am fully aware that there are powers that are far greater than that of our President, but there will be no more 'wink-wink, knod-knod, Bob's your Uncle" shenanigans anymore. Behind closed doors deals will be a thing of the past, and government contracts will be granted based on quality and bid pricing, and nothing more. And it will all be transparent provided it does not compromise national security.

Our military will receive everything they need to do their job in the safest and most effective manner, using the most progressive technologies available.

EDUCATION: This government social program should be made private again. Our government program continues to degrade and costs tax-payers a fortune. You may think that public schools are free, but you are incorrect. You and I pay for them every day. To bring quality back into our schools, they should become private entities once again. Much higher quality will naturally return as each school vies for as many students as possible, and tuition will remain low with the level of competition they will have to contend with. And with the tax cuts everyone will receive from not having to pay for this government program anymore, families will be able to pay for their children to go to the school of their choosing. School curriculum will no longer be mandated and they can choose to include specialty curriculum for students who show strengths in various areas, be it sciences, the arts, mathematics, etc. While teaching the basics, students will have the opportunity and support to excel within their natural strengths from the start, and remain much more interested in education than being forced to study outside their natural interests. They will be much more likely to continue with higher education later on, and become experts in their chosen fields with a foundation that started with Kindergarten rather than in college.

PRISON SYSTEM: This system is broken in so many ways. First, it costs a fortune to provide room and board to people who have broken the law. And we pay for this. Second, it does not address the reasons these people have broken the law to begin with. It is a fact that the majority of inmates are there because the laws they broke were directly or indirectly a result of substance abuse, whether it be drugs or alcohol. While may prisons offer AA and/or NA meetings within their walls, many do not participate or understand how these substances played a role in their actions.

There needs to be effective rehabilitative services within our prison system so that individuals who have served their time have the ability to function as productive, healthy individuals when they re-enter society. Without such programs and support, these individuals will come out angry and bitter and become repeat offenders in no time, ultimately ending up back in the prison system. Some make a life of it knowing they will have food, shelter and medical care inside. For them, it is the easier way of life as they have no other options or support.

I suggest that these program can be administered through a fully voluntary program. There are many retirees that have much time and wisdom to share, and while I know plenty of them who take substance abuse meetings into the prisons, there are so many more who would likely volunteer mentoring/sponsoring programs if they were available. It would cost tax-payers nothing, and provide a much needed resource that would reduce the number of re-offenders and give these individuals a leg to stand on once they are released.

There are many more issues that need to be addressed and corrected if we are to find our way back to being a great country. These are, of course, the major issues at hand, and my thoughts about how they would be best corrected. If you are interested in hearing how I would handle any other issue, certainly ask. If I do not know the answer, I will tell you so, and then I will look for a solution. I will never make anything up just to satisfy any person. But I will tell you the truth, as I see it, and always look for the best possible solution to any problem.

God bless us all, including the Governor of Pennsylvania (whom I look very much forward to learning more about) and may we none be wusses anymore.

Texas Is The Best - Farmers' Market Season Begins

'Tis the season to be jolly, indeed. Sound like "Christmas in the Springtime"? Well, it certainly is to chefs and amateur cooks alike throughout Texas. Produce is coming into season all across the Northern Hemisphere, and there's simply nothing like cooking with fresh ingredients, or having that amazing blackberry-based fruit salad first thing in the morning. Doctors and health insurance companies alike recommend diets rich in fresh fruits and vegetables, and now is the time to maximize on that healthy produce.

The best way to buy produce is, of course, through the local farmer's markets. Texas has some of the country's best markets, partially due to the state's long growing season and ability to produce a wide variety of fresh goods. Not only can customers feel good about buying directly from the farmer who grew it -- thereby giving him or her a higher profit margin in a competitive business and helping the local economy -- but they can also leave knowing they're buying a healthier product.

Farmers' markets are also wonderful social venues, bringing together members of the population that may not normally meet -- those from a variety of ethnic, economic, and educational backgrounds. Cities like Dallas, Houston and Austin are great places to witness many cultures coming together to share good food, recipes, cultivation tips, and excellent company.

Many markets feature live music and local craftspeople as well, providing regulars an even better chance to get to know their community, and to honor those who still make products by hand. To meet the person who grows your family's food, or to have a conversation with the one who made your favorite hand-carved oak chest is incredibly enriching.

A recent study showed that an average piece of supermarket produce travels 2,000 miles before it reaches its destination -- and that's a national average, so it includes produce in agricultural states like California and Texas. It may seem silly for an avocado to be shipped to Texas -- a state that can, and easily does, grow it -- but it's all a part of the efficiency-first systems of mega corporations that literally collect, handle, and redistribute tons of food a day. In order to survive such a journey, much of this produce is sprayed with preservative chemicals. Such preservatives reduce spoilage and maintain the product's fresh appearance, but many of the plants' nutrients will still be lost.

In addition, there is serious debate on the health effects of agricultural pesticides. A strong organic farming movement has developed in response to the last several decades' increasing use of artificial chemicals on food products. The issue extends across the national border; certain pesticides that are legal in Mexico, and other countries from which produce is imported, for example, are banned in the U.S. due to known toxic side effects. Because the chemicals are not actually applied in this country, however, the food is allowed to be marketed here, sometimes with measurable levels of the banned substances.

In contrast, produce at a farmer's market only travels an average of 50 miles. Not only does this mean fewer chemicals on the delicate, absorptive skins of most fruits and vegetables, but also that a higher nutrient value will be maintained. A selection of organically grown foods is also available at most farmer's markets. The fresher the food, the more vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals are present -- not to mention providing a much better taste. These nutrients aren't simply a way to eat healthy; they also serve to fight cancer, heart disease, aging, stress, depression, and many other ailments.

Texas is an unusually wonderful place for farmers' markets. In fact, even residents of cities like Houston, Dallas, and Austin have access to a plethora of locally grown produce, a luxury in any urban area. With its long growing season and varied climate, an array of fruits and vegetables is easily cultivated throughout the state. A short list includes apples, avocados, beans, berries, blackberries, black-eyed peas, blueberries, cantaloupe, citrus, cucumbers, figs, flowers, garlic, grapes, greens, herbs, honey, melons, nectarines, okra, onions, peaches, pears, peas, pecans, peppers, persimmons, plums, potatoes, pumpkins, raspberries, spinach, squash, strawberries, sweet corn, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, turnips, watermelon.

The Texas Department of Agriculture's website lists regular farmer's markets, children's activities, and provides a searchable database of all the produce listed above, including farms where the goodies can be picked by hand. Whether you're in Houston or El Paso, you can track where your local farmers' markets are, as well as actual nearby farms. Keep in mind that not every small farm, and not every farmer's market, will be listed on the site, so watch for local opportunities to buy and pick locally grown produce.

Here are a few tips for buying fresh produce from the farmer's market, as adapted from a recent publication of the University of Nebraska's Cooperative Extension:

o Carefully check for signs of spoilage or mold. Pick up the fruit, handle it gently, smell it, and inspect the piece from the front, back and sides. Fresh produce spoils quickly, so you want to make sure it hasn't started to degrade before it even hits the fridge.

o Handle all food gently. Bacteria grow quickly in a bruised area.

o Travel home soon after purchasing the produce. If proper storage conditions and temperatures aren't maintained, wonderful food can begin to degrade within hours.

o Store potatoes, onions, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, winter squashes, bananas, and melons in a clean, dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight.

o Avocados, kiwi fruit, peaches, nectarines, plums, mangoes, and pears can be ripened on a counter, outside of a plastic bag, and out of direct sunlight. After they ripen, it's best to refrigerate the fruit until they're ready to be consumed. To accelerate the ripening process, place several pieces in a single layer at the bottom of a paper bag. The insulated off-gases will speed the aging process.

o Most other produce is best stored in the refrigerator, below 40ยบ F. Use commercial, food-grade perforated bags, or punch about 20 holes in a non-ventilated produce bag. This will maintain moisture, but provide needed airflow.

o Store fruits and vegetables in separate refrigerator crisper drawers. Fruits give off ethylene gas that can shorten the lives of vegetables, and certain vegetables (like onion) produce odors that will reduce the quality and taste of the fruits.

Here are a couple of great recipes to try with your fresh produce, provided by the Texas Department of Agriculture's website:

So go check it out. Farmer's markets are amazing resources, and they should be used to their fullest advantage -- and for the betterment of your health. You'll be surprised how much variety you'll find, how beautiful simple foods can be, and how eager you'll be to eat!

How you eat when you're young will certainly affect your health as you age, and eventually affect your wallet as well.

Product Review - UK Paye And Payroll Software

DIY Accounting Payroll Software is written on a series of excel spreadsheet templates.

Small business payroll solution available in the UK for up to 5 employees, up to 10 employees and a third version of the payroll for up to 20 employees.

The basic details of each employee are entered on an Employee Details worksheet including personal details such as name, address, starting date, income tax code and national insurance details. Details which every employer needs to maintain anyway to satisfy the requirements of operating a paye scheme. The payroll software then uses the pay data entered such as income tax code and dates and national insurance dates to calculate the income tax deductions and national insurance contributions of both employee and employer. Once the employee details have been entered running a paye system couldn't be easier.

The payroll software pre-enters each employee's name on the payroll each week or month and simply entering the employee gross pay triggers the payroll to automatically calculate income tax and national insurance contributions including the employers' national insurance contribution using the standard income tax and national insurance tables which are embedded within the files supplied with the payroll software system.

Having calculated the net pay the payroll software then goes that extra step and automatically completes the time consuming paye deduction sheets, all arranged in the same appearance as the official inland revenue deductions sheet for recording income tax and national insurance deductions. In addition also included in the employee paye section are copies of the employee P60 certificate, P45 if required and the P14 which is a summary of the pay, income tax and national insurance contributions made by each employee. This feature of the payroll software is extremely valuable in saving employers using the small business payroll solution a great deal of time in paye administration.

Many payroll software systems require the purchase of payslip stationery. The DIY Accounting payroll software is different in this respect. First of all the payslips are all generated automatically from the information in the payroll file which shows the weekly or monthly gross and net pay, income tax and national insurance and the gross numbers to date. The Payslips all preset on payslip templates can be printed at any time on normal A4 copy paper being another money saving feature of the paye solution.

The income tax and national insurance deducted throughout the financial year are automatically collected by the payroll software on an excel copy of the Employers Annual return, the P35. An excel copy in the same format as the inland revenue form which can be simply printed out enabling the payroll figures to then be entered and filed online for employers to both avoid late penalties and receive the online tax free bonus available.

The DIY Accounting Payroll Software is easily integrated into the DIY Accounting Software solutions for both self employed and limited companies when the payroll software files are saved in the same folder as the accounting files providing a complete accountancy solution for clients.

Payroll Software Weaknesses

The DIY Accounting payroll system does not deal with income tax K codes. The income tax code K is used infrequently being applicable to those employees whose taxable expenses exceed the income tax allowance and is often never seen by most employers.

Employer statutory sick pay and maternity leave require to be entered manually. Considered to be a minor weakness since these figures when applicable can be easily looked up on the employers CD-Rom as required.

The quoted package sizes of 5 employees, 10 employees and 20 employees include all employees during the year including new starters and leavers and it is important then to obtain a package likely to be in excess of the total number of expected employees to avoid changing the payroll solution during the financial year.

Pricing

At £14.99 the small business payroll software for up to 5 employees including starters and leavers is almost a giveaway price with many competitive products priced much higher. The 10 employee payroll version is £19.99 and the 20 employee payroll version just £24.99. Considering the paye administrative work the payroll systems save. The packages are not upgraded each year with employers purchasing the new package each financial year.

Conclusion

Exceptionally good value, the payroll system is very quick and easy to use and produces exactly what every employer requires from a small business payroll solution. Accurate income tax and national insurance contribution calculations, significant reduction in paye administration time, regular payslips for each employee, compliance with paye administrative requirements and the satisfaction and valuable tax free bonus prize of producing the payroll on time.

Terry Cartwright is a qualified accountant in the UK designs Payroll Software solutions for small to medium sized business that automates the calculation of Income Tax and National Insurance contributions producing a complete Payroll solution for 1 to 20 employees.

Desperate Times Produce Desperate Thinking

A penny saved may be a penny earned. But don't count on it still being worth the same amount when you want to spend it - especially if Harvard economist Kenneth Rogoff gets what he wants.

As the Federal Reserve does everything it can to dump new money into the economy, many people, myself included, are convinced that we are headed toward a period of potentially serious inflation. Most of those people are equally convinced that inflation is a bad thing. It is, after all, one of the two ingredients in the so-called misery index.

In recent comments, however, Rogoff has advocated intentionally creating "moderate inflation of, say, 4 to 6 percent for several years." (1) In an opinion piece in the Financial Times, he acknowledged that his proposal might be anathema to some, but said "a once-in-75-year crisis calls for outside-the-box measures."

The idea behind the inflationary solution is to get people out of debt by effectively reducing the amounts they owe. A $100,000 mortgage stays a $100,000 mortgage, but if a government can churn up a 4 to 6 percent inflation rate, that $100,000 becomes a smaller amount relative to the cost of other goods and wages. According to Rogoff, the main issue facing our economy is "a huge overhang of debt," so anything that helps debtors pay back what they owe for less is a good thing.

Rogoff's view has been a particularly hot topic in the financial press, since he is generally known as a conservative thinker. As recently as 2008, he specifically rejected the idea of temporary inflation as salve for personal debt, writing in the Financial Times, "However convenient it may be to have several years of elevated inflation to help bail out homeowners and financial institutions, the gain has to be weighed against the long-run cost of re-anchoring inflation expectations later on." (2)

What Rogoff recognized then, and seems to have forgotten now, is that what goes around comes around. When debtors pay less, creditors get less back.

Back when banks operated as banks, rather than as government-backed hedge funds, savers deposited their money in the bank in exchange for a reasonable rate of interest. Banks would then lend that money to borrowers at higher rates of interest. Borrowers accepted those rates, either because they were willing to pay a premium to have money now rather than later, or because they believed they could get an even higher rate of return themselves. Banks made their profit on the spread between what they paid depositors and what they charged borrowers.

Following the bank failures of the Great Depression, a fourth party, the federal government, entered the equation to ensure that savers would not lose their money if a bank made too many bad loans and was unable to absorb its losses. Now the government guarantees depositors' money in exchange for banks' insurance premium payments and the ability to conduct oversight.

For quite a while, that system worked pretty well. Then it stopped working. Banks made too many loans to people who could not repay them. Meanwhile, the federal government changed from an independent overseer to one of the biggest borrowers in town. Both events have given the government a substantial interest in trying to make money cheaper, both for itself and for all the other borrowers whose debt the government supports through instruments like the government sponsored mortgage bankers Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

The result is that savers get punished. Instead of banks actively seeking out depositors, savers are increasingly being seen as a burden. Citibank and others have even started charging customers to hand over their cash, while Bank of America made headlines recently with its plans to start charging most customers for using their debit cards. For many savers, banks have become places to spend money rather than a place to make money.

This is not just unfair to savers. It indirectly harms borrowers as well, and, ultimately, it keeps the economy from recovering.

Since talking about the "price" of money can be confusing, let's talk about eggs.

Imagine that Americans develop a huge appetite for eggs. Unfortunately, they can't afford as many eggs as they want. To appease both the people and the White House chef - who, it turns out, is a dedicated connoisseur of egg-filled dishes - the government steps in and offers to sell eggs at five cents apiece. For a while, everyone is very happy. Quickly, though, they realize that farmers are unwilling to compete by selling their eggs at a price that would result in a loss. All the private farmers abandon the egg business, leaving the government as the sole purveyor of eggs. Soon, there is an egg shortage. Price controls almost always result in scarcity of the goods in question.

The lesson here is that if the government makes a business unprofitable, private parties get out of it. Low interest rates and high inflation make the money-lending business as unprofitable as the egg business in our example. As a result, while loans are cheap for those who can get them, savers and banks are reluctant to lend, and many people are unable to borrow money at all. These people then can't make the sorts of investments that are necessary to fuel economic growth. Instead of rescuing the economy by getting people out of debt, the plan of cheapening money through inflation produces stagnation.

There is also the problem that, sooner or later, banks and foreign governments are going to stop lending money to the U.S. government. If the government announces its plan to pay back its debts in currency worth less than what it's getting, lenders are going to raise interest rates to make up the difference. The cost of servicing our national debt will skyrocket, placing more pressure on taxpayers and draining more money that could otherwise be used for investment.

Rogoff says desperate times call for desperate measures. Yet his comments seem to be evidence that desperate times produce desperate thinking. All of the objections he raised to inflationary policy in the past still apply. What has changed is that we have come to the scary but true realization that much of the money that has been borrowed cannot be repaid. The losses left over from our runaway spending holiday need to be allocated somehow. To the extent that banks can absorb the losses and survive, they will need to do so. When they cannot, the rest of us will end up paying the difference through a combination of higher taxes, higher interest rates and, yes, higher inflation, which is the almost inevitable result of the money the government is creating so it can be shoveled into the banking system.

No society has ever built lasting prosperity by deliberately devaluing money. Prosperity is built on savings and investment. Inflation inhibits both. We keep trying to get the economy back to normal by making the credit markets more and more abnormal. It has not worked yet, and I don't think it is likely to work anytime in the future.

Instead, the "new normal" will likely look surprisingly like the old normal - the one that came before the illusory growth and binge spending of the 1990s and the 2000s. Borrowers need to be prepared to pay back what they borrow, banks need to be encouraged to make loans, and savers need to be allowed to save.

How To Rid Your Home Of The Nations #1 Health Menace

With today's new building procedures, our homes are more dangerous than ever before!

Scientific evidence now shows that the air inside our homes is 2-5 times more polluted than the air outside. And because we spend about 90 percent of our time inside, indoor air quality has become one of the top environmental health threats in the country.

With today's new construction practices, buildings are no longer made to breathe. Pollutants trapped inside our home can cause chronic symptoms such as coughing, sneezing, skin rashes and itchy eyes. Some pollutants may have more serious effects, including asthma and cancer.

I remember back in the 70's (when I was just a kid), in an effort to save money on energy, the public utility district was upgrading everyone's home, at their own expense.

My parents took the PUD up on this offer as well. A contractor came to our home and installed double-pane windows, more insulation (throughout our entire home), insulated all the electrical outlets, and basically did everything possible to turn our home into an air tight cocoon.

While this seemed like a good idea at the time, buildings are now made so air tight that the pollutants produced in the building accumulate and have no way to escape.

Here it is years later, and a major health concern has evolved.

Black mold!

Mold has now become a nationwide epidemic. It's now responsible for destroying the lives of thousands of unsuspecting victims. And until we find out how to control this menace, the situation is only going to get worse.

The Government GIP!

Is it possible for government to have a budget deficit? On the surface it would seem so; budget deficits seem obvious, not to mention persistent. A slightly deeper look into the machinations of funding government (the most public of corporations), reveals that there is no such thing as a deficit, nor is there really such a thing as a national debt. A government that oversees a productive and profitable economy, and which has legitimate costs to do its duties, must tax that productivity to pay for its expenses. To take less than what it needs from our national productivity and yet borrow from that same productivity, offering the profit of interest to the lenders, along with burdens of debt to the producing taxpayers, is a conspiracy to defraud and enslave the working class with continually increasing taxes and or continually decreasing services.

Government must pay its bills, and the money used to pay those bills can only be, and are in fact, tax dollars. There are no other dollars available to a government unless it simply creates them, which is taxation by inflation, devaluing future labor until wages and prices rise to consume those dollars. The definition of debt is, in principle, the obligation to repay borrowed labor or borrowed commodities, from one person to another, or from one group of persons to another. But no person or group of persons can be in debt to themselves. Only a moron would take money from his wallet to spend on himself, and replace it with an IOU. We are in principle supposed to be one people, indivisible. We cannot be in debt to ourselves; we cannot write ourselves an IOU. Therefore, the so-called national debt is not a debt. It is, however, misfeasance and malfeasance in the operation of government.

So how can these borrowed deficit dollars be considered taxes? Quite simply it follows from the force or persuasion principle, which is the principle by which all levels of society interact with government. We are all familiar with the power of government to force our participation in the tax system. The government also takes in tax dollars through persuasion. This is accomplished by having the elected representatives create a Government Investment Program (GIP), whose function is to take seed money from the dollars coming in by force and offer it as interest payments to anyone persuaded to invest money in the government. The Government Investment Program is competing for, and getting, surplus dollars from wealthy citizens, many private investment groups, such as insurance companies, mutual funds companies, retirement funds (401K and IRAs), large and small businesses, all manner of stocks and bonds related investment companies, foreign companies and citizens, foreign governments, etc. Since individuals own all manner of businesses by owning stock in those companies, all of these persuasion tax dollars are idle dollars held by individuals, who are directly, or through their elected corporate representatives, or through their hired investment counselors, seeking to put those dollars on loan to increase their future wealth at forced taxpayers' expense.

Even with increasing foreign investment in our national tax system, Americans still own about three-quarters of this so-called debt; but where foreigners must be paid back for their loans, US citizens will eventually just forfeit their persuasion taxes; after all, their money is spent and it will bankrupt the country just to repay the foreign investors.

Much of the idle wealth accumulated in the 1980's came as a result of tax reform, whereby taxes were reduced for everyone. However, upper income citizens reaped greater amounts of wealth to re-invest, while the federal government was running larger and larger fictitious deficits. With wealthy individuals and corporations already receiving substantial labor rewards from their workers, government services would have to be cut or government would have to raise funds another way. Borrowing idle dollars from wealth was chosen. But since our government is supposed to be a non-profit organization, every dollar coming in is spent, and since our government is also supposed to be a non-debt organization, every dollar taken in by persuasion, must eventually be repaid with a dollar taken in by force, plus interest. Persuasion taxes on idle wealth will eventually have to be converted to forced taxes on the productivity of our economy; or the debt will have to be abrogated.

Persuasion tax money is idle money, and is not needed by wealth to expand the private economy. The economy would not suffer if all taxes were forced taxes, and it would be perceived to be much stronger because there would never be an artificial deficit.

Although banks must keep a certain amount of their depositors' dollars in reserve, available to cover withdrawal demands and to pay for insurance from the government on all deposits, using the government's liquidity to cover for any mismanagement by the banks. The GIP does not retain any reserves against the spending of these persuasion dollars except the printing press to create new dollars, the power to raise additional taxes by force, and the power to sell national resources (parks, lands, minerals, forests, etc.) to the debt holders. In our current fiscal difficulties the government must keep the nine-plus trillion dollars taken in by the GIP in an idle state simply because government is still forced to continue persuading additional idle dollars to be deposited into the GIP.

What is becoming ridiculous is the cost of keeping all those spent dollars from being returned to the investors. The Government Investment Program must compete with private investment companies, national and international, to retain those trillions of dollars. Its only power to do so lies in offering higher interest returns, and the fear of the consequences to international economics if the investors fail to leave these idle dollars where they are. Since these dollars are already spent, any request for withdrawal of the principle by investors in the GIP that could not be repaid by additional borrowing from other investors would have to be raised by the confiscation of private assets. In other words, government would have to raise forced taxes drastically to pay persuasion tax refunds, so that those least able to pay would have to contribute to refunds for those most able to pay.

The on-going tug-of-war between idle wealth and the producing class makes our social existence very precarious. Those who hold the paper of government debt should be advised that when the producing class is no longer able or willing to service that debt, the government will be obligated to raise the taxes of those most able to pay, in order to pay off these notes. It would be the easiest way to abrogate a debt that is not a debt and should never have occurred in the first place. So if government fails to take in the first place, what it spends in the first place, then those who have been persuaded to invest in government will come to realize that they have also been taken. Such is the reality of the taxation authority that resides in the people.

The federal government and the common people are two different entities now. Since the common people have already paid their taxes, the federal government will have to turn to its controllers to abrogate this debt. Keep in mind that the interest expense on the national debt is paid to keep the nine-plus trillion dollar principal from coming due. When those who invest in these pieces of paper determine that our eroded job base does not have enough taxable income to support our own needs, as well as the interest expense on their bond-paper, they will cash in those bonds as they mature, adding additional hundreds of billions of dollars to our tax burdens yearly. And you can be assured that not only will your taxes go up, but also the cost of Medicare, Medicaid, Food Stamps, Social Security, Head Start. Many other programs will be cut or abolished to help pay back those bonds. The choices for the future are to pay the bills and suffer social chaos while maintaining economic stability; or do not pay the bills and suffer economic chaos, while trying to maintain social stability. Or inflate the currency, pay the bills with worthless dollars, and bring on both economic and social chaos.

Many believe our country can operate with an unbalanced budget, when in fact we have always had a balanced budget. We just use unbalanced taxation to achieve it, borrowing from idle wealth directly and through its myriad investment resources, to cover our government's obligations to ourselves. A balanced budget amendment is a farcical thing, since every budget is always balanced (forced taxes and persuasion taxes equal money spent). A new amendment should be called "the equitable and forced taxation from all" amendment.

Does the middle class really believe that their pension funds, mutual funds, and life insurance money can be invested in government bonds to provide future income for themselves, without requiring that they tax themselves into poverty to pay those bonds when they are due; or requiring that their money inflate to worthless paper? Labor barters for labor and consumption privileges today. The future can only be likewise. If you expect to receive a pension when you retire, and your pension fund is investing in government bonds, then you should prepare yourself to continue working until death retires you. You will have to pay your share of the increasing taxes that will come due to pay all of the bonds that we the government owe to our wealthier citizens.

The argument by some politicians and some economists that we need not force the up-front collections of all money to be spent by government through forced taxation is ludicrous. A trillion dollars paid out in interest money in President Reagan's years to expand and maintenance this pool of idle dollars is morally and economically criminal. Another trillion dollars in interest was paid out in the first President Bush's term. And even more in President Clinton's term; and still more in the terms of Bush-2. If we cannot pay our bills in relative good times, we shall not survive as a nation in the worst of times.

Yet the political buffoons will increase Social Security taxes every year, (which is not only paid by each laborer but is matched dollar for dollar by the employer), spending a significant portion of these dollars off-budget to help finance government. All the while telling us that they are investing the surplus Social Security taxes for our future. How could dollars spent for today's consumption be considered an investment that can be refunded to pay for future consumption? That money is gone forever. This process is just another worthless IOU from us to us.

Government can never be a good investment in a capitalist economy. The whole principle of democracy and its relationship to an economy is that the government would tax, spend, and regulate both personal and corporate productivity to provide for our common needs, to promote our continued prosperity, and to always maintain a net asset wealth of infrastructure owned by all and free of debt. Government takes what we need; it cannot ethically borrow in the sense of mortgaging our future. Workers are paid weekly, BI-weekly, or monthly, and corporations calculate their profits monthly and quarterly. So there is no reason why government cannot establish monthly tax payments from labor and business to pay its monthly bills. If necessary, the government could establish different fiscal years for different workers and corporations to smooth over seasonal and other income aberrations. There is no reason why government should not have 100 to 200 billion dollars available to cover for any natural disasters until taxes can be adjusted to pay any new expenses. But there should never be a deficit or national debt or interest due on any taxes collected by government.

Nine trillion dollars invested by private citizens and foreigners, in government spending needs, show where the trickle-down economies got sidetracked. When President Reagan lowered taxes to promote investment in business and entrepreneurship, he should also have lowered interest rates that the government would pay for private money, to ensure that the reduced taxes on the wealthy would cause them to invest their surplus into expanding the private economy. Instead, government had to raise interest rates, to compete with private enterprise, to borrow the money needed to fund government, since spending was increased after taxes were reduced. For many years government has been a safe and profitable investment for the very dollars it should have taken to pay for government spending. It is impossible for government to be a wealth-producing investment, unless it is also a poverty-producing indenture. We are one people; therefore, if some can increase their wealth by mortgaging our common needs, then many others must increase their poverty to pay that mortgage.

The portion of these deposits in the government that is owned by retirement funds, insurance companies, states and municipalities, demonstrates a collective belief that you can give yourself an IOU. If government takes or accepts money contributed by these above named groups, giving them the IOU promise, then government will be obligated at some point in the future to persuade if not coerce these groups to contribute those moneys a second time. The interest paid to these groups to keep them in the scam is approaching the character of a Ponzi scheme, (using new investment money to pay previous investors dividends, to attract more investment until the operator of the scheme takes as much as he can and disappears before it all collapses). When government runs out of legitimate investors, it will begin using the electronic printing press to pay the profits expected by earlier depositors, because it cannot just disappear like an ordinary con-artist. And finally, the portion of these deposits invested by foreign individuals and foreign governments demonstrates some gross errors in commerce, when the most powerful, most productive, and largest economy in the world, cannot conduct international trade for a net surplus of dollars. It is instead forced or persuaded to conduct trade in such a manner that the profits made by foreign companies and governments come back as investments in our domestic spending requirements; either for want of a more lucrative investment or for political power to maintain the unfortunate circumstances which have created and which sustain these exported profits. The amount of money loaned to our government annually, by foreigners, is roughly equal to the interest that is paid on this so-called debt annually. If the persuasion taxes had been taken as forced taxes there would be no interest due and no foreign investment in our internal affairs.

We are failing as a community to deal fairly with each other. Those who store their wealth in pieces of paper, issued by governments, should know that labor is bartered for labor, and those who harvest a bumper crop today cannot set it aside for the future in pieces of paper. People will not always be property and laborers will not always submit to being enslaved; those who wish to own the future will find that their paper wealth will be abrogated. If we are going to continue to tax the lower class with lack of opportunity, the middle class by force, and the upper class by persuasion, giving the persuaded first feeding at the communal trough, then we are a short way from self destruction. Bad taxation policies should not make good investments for surplus dollars. Posterity has the right of self-determination and cannot be sold into slavery for today's folly. Since it is doubtful that our children will accept this debt as theirs, and also doubtful that the debt will be forgiven, we have only social strife and the threat of revolution to dog us, until we are captives of its violent processes.

Eventually, foreigners investing in our economy and our government debt will need their money to support their own economies. We will either destroy our currency if we print those dollars for them, or we will destroy our economy if we are forced to tax ourselves to raise the capital necessary to repay such bonds; or we will sell our resources to them and become economically dominated like South America and Africa.

The Earth is free, when honored; sufficient, when shared; abundant, when sacrificed for. Let those who fence off the Earth's resources, and control the opportunities for labor, be aware, the laborers who are being farmed for profit by the world's capitalist aristocracy, and saddled with unnecessary public debt in virtually all countries, will not be morally or legally obligated to pay this bondage.

Government cannot be in debt, nor can it have deficits in the budget process. We are one people, and we pay our bills with tax dollars collected by ourselves. Whether we choose to tax and spend or borrow and spend, we are paying those bills with dollars collected by the Treasury Department, and if the Treasury wants to switch the country from forced taxation to one of persuasion taxation, so be it. Wealth and political power are often inseparable, and this marriage is just as often unavoidable. I call upon the persons of wealth and influence to bring their considerable powers to bear upon the federal government to either reduce expenditures to the level of tax income immediately, or to bring their considerable powers to bear upon their wealth, and force the government to take from them, without obligation to refund, those moneys which were idly invested in treasury notes, to balance the federal budget. If you do not help the nation voluntarily to the benefit and preservation of all, the working class (and unemployed working class) will help themselves later, to your specific detriment. You are fiscally irresponsible to disregard the consequences, in your pursuit of personal gain, just as the lower classes are irresponsible in demanding expenditures of borrowed funds, without regard to those same consequences. Let's not be GIP'ed out of our future.

Health Care Reform is Not Healthy

HEALTH CARE REFORM IS NOT HEALTHY!

LET'S CALL IT WHAT IT Is - HEALTH INSURANCE MONEY ALLOCATION AND RE-DISTRICTING

Health insurance premiums are driven by the success or failure of actual health recovery maintenance and the costs required to deliver of service. Harris L. Coulter, Ph.D., of Washington, DC, and editor of the 8th edition of the HPUS,is an internationally renowned medical historian and author of over 30 books and essays, which include: THE DIVIDED LEGACY, a four volume epochal history of medicine, which covers its origins to present day.

"Society today is paying a heavy price in disease and death for the monopoly granted the medical profession in the 1920's. In fact, the situation peculiarly resembles that of the 1830s when physicians relied on bloodletting, mercurial medicines, and quinine, even though knowing them to be intrinsically harmful. And precisely the same arguments were made in defense of these medicines as are employed today, namely, that the benefits outweigh the risks. In truth, the benefits accrue to the physician, while the patient runs the risks."-Harris Coulter, Ph.D., (Divided Legacy Vol 3)

There is no question we need reform in the areas of disease elimination improvements in Health, better delivery of health care when it is needed and health insurance parity. Personally, am all for reform, but let those reforms ring with the clarity of Truth and illuminate our way through the fog obfuscation.

Overall chemo-therapy and radiation are documented to be an absolute failure in the so-called war against cancer. The long-term survival rate of cancer patients using orthodox therapies remains abysmal and the statistical reportage is obfuscated.

Refer to: New England Journal of Medicine, "Progress Against Cancer," May 8, 1986 by John C. Bailar, III and Elaine M. Smith, and a ten-year follow-up "The War on Cancer" which appeared in Lancet, May 18th, 1996, by Michael B. Spoorn. Therein is published in leading medical journals, but they remain as the only therapies and pharmaceutical companies enjoy federal mandate.

Stated simply you cannot poison a sick person well.

HEALTH CARE REFORM is a meme used to numb the mind and sway political process but has little or nothing to do with health and certainly is neither, reform in the ways the public perceives, nor what they dearly need.

Merely by changing who and how much they profit for health services is only a small fraction of the underlying problem and ultimately it's you who pay. Current Congressional debates will not offer true reform of our systemic disease CARE, but strengthen insurance profits and control.

The fruit of the healthcare tree, while certainly abundant, is altogether rotten, because the roots are corrupted by disease. If the Food and Drug Administration which regulates both FOOD and drugs while having far reaching powers that are beyond the Constitution of the United States of America, is powerless to effectuate the genuine change required to modify the so-called health industry.

Nor can the FDA provide the reforms by its far reaching power and control, then how can we expect it to come from mandates from an under educated over lobbied congress?

Give credit where due, the FDA has been effective in causing millions of tones of ground meat and spinach. A little too late perhaps as the FDA has done nothing to stop chemical companies from pouring oceans of deadly toxic, and known carcinogens on our crops.

"Water and air, the two essential fluids on which all life depends, have become global garbage cans" ~ Jacques Cousteau

HOW CAN YOU HAVE HEALTH IF WE DON'T HAVE CLEAN WATER AND AIR?

We must stop poisoning our earth with unnecessary toxic chemicals, which leaches out the elements and minerals building blocks of the cells of our bodies, and support and teach the farmers on bio-dynamic farming.

Why is there no respect for and replication of how the Hunzas and several other tribes on earth, wholive to be well over 120, and disease free.

These tribes drink the water which comes off of the slow grinding of the glacier across mountain terrain and gives minute quantities of every element and every mineral. Their cells have

access to all the natural building blocks of life and therefore remain impervious to invasion and disease.

Health and Old Age Places with High Longevity: Hunza Pakistan the area of Hunza in Pakistan which has a high level of longevity. A Guide to Shangri-La: The Leading Longevity Sites on Earth

For Americans and the world at large where the crop land is awash in chemicals the minerals and elements are leached out of the soil and the roots of our food crops are have no way to chelate them so that we can digest them into our bodies.

What follows is a well known symptom called pica, and we are constantly looking for something to eat to satisfy the hunger of the cells and this leads to obesity and disease on a national scale.

There are solutions, but the FOOD administration, has done nothing to listen to, study, implement, nor promote the use of Bio-Dynamic Farming, which is proven to produce greater volumes of crops far healthier and do not poison our water aquifers.

One fairly recent proactive move; the FDA and the FTC have enforced the little known Federal Law under USC Title 21 Part 56, INFORMED CONSENT. This activity is evidenced by the too frequent drug commercials and advertisements. To name one example the anti depressant drug, ABILIFY, is known to cause death and suicide.

To our detriment and demise, the FDA has a tunnel vision partisan perspective and always reactive, rarely proactive when a patient actually dies from using an FDA approved drug, they routinely avoid any blame and state "there is no conclusive evidence to prove it was because of the drug." No drug company is ever charged with a crime and no executives, nor doctors, are criminally charged for manufacturing, nor for prescribing the drugs.

WHY? Because the drugs are FDA approved so it would mean they are culpable.

However, when a substance derived and used by another Healing Art, i.e. Homeopathy, is found to be highly effective in combating and eliminating a disease such as cancer, or reversing the side effects of AIDS, a stroke, or Cystic Fibrosis, to name a few, the FDA routinely states there is no scientific evidence to support the claims moves swiftly to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.

We must continue to strengthen the education of the public on sound fundamentals of health maintenance.

We must allow for access and coverage to all branches of the Healing Arts. This is known as the ECLECTIC. The allopathic cartel are not the arbiters of truth, nor have they proven to be honorable stewards, nor have they provided viable solutions where other forms of healing arts have been successful, in some cases thousands of years.

THE PROBLEM

The problem is that over the past 67 years, a Federal Agency, the Food and Drug Administration, created in 1938 as an agency to ensure that Food, Drugs and Cosmetics moving in interstate commerce, were pure, unadulterated, contained what was stated on the label and safe for human consumption.

Over the years the FDA has undergone a metamorphosis and has become a threat to the civil liberties and public health of Americans, as well as added incredibly to the cost of the products it regulates.

The FDA has a long history of using the resources of the agency to conduct Gestapo type raids on medical clinics, terrorizing patients, staff and practitioners, seizing quantities of vitamins, manuals and harmless natural products, issues completely inaccurate, indeed, deliberately mendacious publicity releases slandering practitioners, nutritional products and innovative drugs and has so far departed from the purposes for which it was created as to become a menace to both the public's health and their civil liberties.

Under 80 or more years of Allopathic domination, the standardized American health care system is unable to:

(1)Control the resurgence of Tuberculosis in the country;

(2)Control the rising rate of Cancer deaths;

(3)Control the rising rate of coronary artery deaths;

(4)Lower the infant mortality rate;

(5)Find an effective cure for AIDS.

There are available answers to all these deficiencies, but none of them are embraced in Allopathic Doctrine.

The question presented is, if there is any legal control over this vast agency and any way citizens can take legal action to cause the agency to be brought under control and be forced to comport itself in accordance with the intent of Congress in creating it, and the additional question of whether or not citizens who have been harassed by its Ultra Vires activities may sue for damages or other relief.

If such legal action is possible, is such legal action the best, or the sole means which can or should be employed to bring the agency under control.

A further question may be what or who is responsible for the agency getting out of control and what, if anything, can be done to ensure that the agency does not get out of control in the future and once again become a menace to society.

ANALYSIS

The agency in question, the Food and Drug Administration, is an out of control bureaucracy, undertaking to perform some proper regulatory functions but devoting many of its resources to illicit functions not contained in its enabling legislation and not permissible under the constitution.

The agency [which was] directed by Commissioner David Kessler, M.D, JD, who assumed the position after the enforced resignation of Joe Young, PhD, has done little to change its behavior except put on a fresh face from time to time.

An investigation revealed widespread corruption with many officials, taking large bribes, not to mention every member of Congress who are heavily lobbied by industries it was supposed to regulate, and the entire agency was demoralized and ineffective.

The agency has openly and notoriously formed "partnership" with private trade associations and special interest groups for the purpose of aiding and abetting non-price predation in the health care market.

The agency has lawful jurisdiction over some Foods, Drugs and medical devices which are in interstate commerce and has no jurisdiction over the practice of medicine or other healing professions.

Despite this rather clear distinction, the agency repeatedly attempts to interfere with health care practitioners by means of its enforcement powers and by liaison with state regulatory agencies, and by conducting Gestapo type raids on the offices and clinics of health care practitioners who practice in Schools of Practice other than the Allopathic School and by attempting to suppress the use of techniques of healing and of products for use in health care which are not within its regulatory jurisdiction.

In HEALTH UNITED STATES, an annual publication by the federal government, our national death rate from cancer is approximately 2,500,000 people per year and the rate is rising. Assuming a cost of $80,000 to $160,000 per person over the last 20 years, that figure represents $200,000,000 to $370,000,000 per year and 50,000,000 lives, or $4 TRILLION to $7.5 TRILLION dollars funneled from our collective economy into the hands of the medical pharmaceutical cartel. Is it any wonder, then, why we cannot find a cure?

In addition One of the first targeted, the FDA, or "Big Medicine," since the early 1900's, in this country was Dr. Royal Raymond Rife. His powerful evolutionary microscope, capable of shattering cancer cells and viruses with radio frequency vibrations, was destroyed and his books burned by federal authorities and he was imprisoned.

Some other embattled pioneers include, but are certainly not limited to: The healing arts of Ethno botany, Naturopathy Chiropractic and Acupuncture and Chelation, which all met intense resistance and violent opposition by federally protected orthodoxy.

Dietmar Schildwaechter, Ph.D., MD, was invaded in his home office in a militant style by state and federal authorities in the late 1980's for introducing a cure for squamous cell cancer, which was proven in a 20-year study in Germany.

Andrew Ivy, MD, a pillar of the A.M.A., who came back from Germany after participating as a panelist in the Nuremberg war crime trials with a cure for cancer called Krebiozen, had his career shattered.

Each paid a high price but distinguished themselves by their courage and resolves to stand up for their convictions, even in the face of overwhelming opposition, loss of license and jail. For a closer look at the inner workings, read: THE CANCER INDUSTRY: the Classic Expose 'on the Cancer Establishment, by Ralph W. Moss, Ph.D.

The FDA regularly approves dangerous, often lethal pharmaceuticals. The side effects of these potentially deadly, or harm causing pharmaceutical drugs can only be fully discovered by wide-spread use. This is despite the average $250-500,000,000 and 15 years to bring these drugs to market, including phase trial tests, trying to prove the elusive "efficacy" requirement of the F.D. &C. Act.

Typically, after one of their highly publicized "wonder" drugs fails, causes death or serious side effects, no FDA official nor PAC member company president, research assistant, corporate official, company doctor, nor testing lab will be subjected to raid, investigation, indictment or jail term.

To the trauma and suffering to the patients and their families and the productive work force, it comes with a hefty price tag.

Both Gaston Naessens and Dietmar Schildwaechter, Ph.D., MD, spent the last 40 years perfecting independent blood tests, which are able to pre diagnose any type of cancer and immune disorders up to two years prior to their onset, with a 1% margin of error. The industrial average false/negative ratio remains extremely high by comparison, yet these new tests are ignored or met with resistance.

THE RELEVANT SERVICE MARKET AND SUBSTITUTABLE ECONOMIC COMPETITORS

The Eclectic Practice of Medicine*

In 1906, Dr. Rolla Thomas completely revised the 1866 teaching manual by John Milton Scudder, and revised it yet again in 1907. This was the culmination of a thirty-year frenzy of published creativity at the Eclectic Medical Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio, and was the main teaching text at that school until the1930s...the college closed in 1939.

"...it were better for the doctor if he can forget that his patient has typhoid fever, pneumonia, dysentery, or whatever he may have, and study the conditions that are present. This may be wrongs of the circulation, of the nervous system, of the secretions, of digestion, of assimilation, or wrongs of the blood, but whatever the basal lesion, it must be overcome if the patient is to be benefited by medication."

THE MONOPOLIZATION OF MEDICINE

The health care industry during the Progressive Era is well documented in academic studies and can reasonably be accepted as a given here without describing in great detail how or why it occurred. However, it was funded largely by the Rockefeller and Carnegie fortunes and was done to guarantee a dominant place in health care for the products of the petrochemical industry.

The Allopathic School of Medical Practice was picked to become the dominant survivor of the monopolization because it was:

(1) Numerically the largest,

(2) Had no well established system of doctrines which made it antagonistic to the use of a system of therapeutics based on petrochemical therapeutics,

(3) Was represented by a fairly well organized and active Trade Association which was receptive to a take over by the funders,

(4) Urgently needed a large infusion of cash and political influence to stop the growing public acceptance of its economic rivals and competitors,

(5) Had little to offer its members without such an infusion of cash and political influence,

(6) Were headed by a staff which welcomed any help - motivated by absolutely no idealism and almost entirely by avarice, the staff of the AMA was easy to enlist in the monopolization and proved extremely efficient - particularly Morris Fishbein, whose role was pivotal and whose service spanned several decades of the monopolization.

One of the chief monopolization strategies was through take over of medical education and the schools or universities which offered this. There were several hundred which offered a two year course in Allopathic Medicine and granted the M.D. degree, which was the sole credential necessary for practice at that time.

Competitive medical universities operated by Homeopathic and Eclectic interests were fewer, but at least 75 existed - some well established and endowed.

The monopolist could have selected any of these; they were all easy targets, but the Allopathic School of Practice had a void in its therapeutic system which made it ideal for the monopolist and the Homeopathic and Eclectic Schools had therapeutic systems which offered little room for the

incorporation of petrochemical technology.

Many Americans, at least those who could afford to do so, went abroad for their medical education, initially to England or Scotland but eventually to Germany where State supported Universities had better facilities and foreign students who could and would pay tuition to augment the salaries of the faculty were welcomed to the extent that lectures were offered in English as well as German to facilitate and accommodate these foreign scholars.

To a man, the initial faculty of John's Hopkins, the first of the Medical Universities to be established and funded by the monopolists were graduates of German Universities and brought to the University both the medical and the political orientations gained as students at German universities, which they passed on to the students of John's Hopkins, most of whom went out to become the faculties of other American medical colleges and further incorporate both the medical and the political orientations of German universities into the graduates of American Medical Universities funded by the monopolists. Those orientations remain a part of Allopathic medicine in the United States today.

This is primarily important in considering the role of the Allopathic School in genocidal activity, which the German medical profession entered into without protest between 1934 and 1945 under the National Socialist Regime in Germany.

Federal control started in earnest around 1938 with the Pure Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act and this became what it is today in 1962 with the Kefauffer Amendments to that Act, which amendments included for the first time, an efficacy requirement which gave the FDA far more power to control both drugs and information about drugs.

The Federal Act was not intended to give the agency any control over the practice of medicine or other health care professions and both its language and many decisions of Federal Courts make that clear. Nevertheless, the agency has made and continues to make increasing excursions into attempts to control the practice of medicine.

Since 1910, a combination of some practitioners and some manufacturers of goods involved in this market has attempted to attain a monopoly in the market to the exclusion of substitutable economic competitors.

Some of the goods in this market, particularly those consisting of synthetic petrochemical pharmaceuticals, are preferentially used by the practitioners involved in the monopolization to the virtual exclusion of other goods.

However, a large amount of the goods involved may be purchased and used by consumers without the recommendation or authorization of health care practitioners and the consumer is free to consult such practitioners or not as he or she sees fit, in most circumstances.

Licensure of health care practitioners is a function of State governments, all of which have a system of examination and licensure of some health care practitioners. There is some variation from state to state in which practitioners are licensed and which are not licensed.

There is universal licensure of physicians and surgeons, osteopathic physicians and surgeons, dentists, chiropractic physicians and there is considerable variation as to the licensure of naturopathic physicians and Oriental medical practitioners (acupuncturists) on a state by state basis.

Despite the state by state variation, all of these practitioners practice in a virtually uniform fashion all have trade associations and specialty societies which are national in scope and all receive fairly standardized training.

Licensure for physicians and surgeons was initially begun around 1890 on a state by state basis at the instigation of the American Medical Association, which is the trade association for the Allopathic School of Medical Practice.

When the process was begun, State Legislatures typically created three separate State Boards of Medical examiners, to examine and license medical practitioners of the Allopathic, Homeopathic and Eclectic Schools of Medical Practice; in many states the Osteopathic School was also given a Board of Examiners.

Initially, the licenses granted to these practitioners was to treat any human disease, disorder or condition by drugs, surgery or any other means and all persons not so licensed were forbidden to undertake such activities for compensation.

Shortly thereafter, other health care practitioners were also given licenses which carried out certain exceptions to the universal licensure of physicians, such as Dentists, Podiatrists, Pharmacists, Nurses, Midwives, Physiotherapists and eventually, Acupuncturists.

The campaign for licensure carried out by the AMA was for the purpose of attaining for its members an exclusive license to practice health care for compensation and to exclude all substitutable economic competitors from the market.

This was not accomplished as State Legislators usually saw fit to license their economic competitors as well in order to maintain competition in the Relevant Service Market.

The campaign to attain exclusive licensure not having succeeded, the AMA next attempted to bring about a merger between the competitive schools of medical practice; that campaign is ongoing and has succeeded in some states to a degree, although all states continue to license health care practitioners who are substitutable economic competitors to allopathic physicians and have clearly articulated policies encouraging competition between different sorts of health care providers, set forth in state legislation.

The AMA and its component state medical societies, nevertheless, continued with unrelenting efforts to monopolize health care and have been convicted of Antitrust violations repeatedly.

The Federal Trade Commission brought an enforcement action against the AMA and its component societies resulting in information concerning anticompetitive misconduct and subsequently a private enforcement action by 4 chiropractors resulted in further permanent injunctions against anticompetitive misconduct.

The later action, Wilk, et al. v. AMA was based upon a campaign conducted by the AMA through its Department of Investigation and Council Against Quackery "to first contain then eliminate Chiropractic".

During the litigation, the Department of Investigation and the Council Against Quackery were hurriedly disbanded by the AMA and files of these organizations were handed over to a private organization which, funded by the Pharmaceutical Advertising Council, continues the anticompetitive campaigns as an ostensible private organization, which is actually an AMA front organization. Its anticompetitive activities have intensified since the injunctions against the AMA were issued and affirmed.

A large part of the plan of monopolization has been and continues to be the suppression of information about health care providers and modalities which are competitive with those of AMA members.

The AMA initially formed a sub rosa organization, the "Health Information Control Council" which had members from several bureaucratic regulatory agencies as members. This was also broken up during the Wilk litigation.

As a part of the Wilk litigation, the Court held that calling a licensed competitor a Quack would constitute an antitrust offense; since that time the AMA front organization has substituted the word "fraud" for "quack" in its anticompetitive campaigns which increasingly are undertaken with State and Federal bureaucrats into whose "hidden agendas" the achievement of monopoly by the AMA and standardization of therapeutics fit extremely well.

During the past 25 years, most of the monopoly activity of this AMA front organization has been with bureaucrats and third party payees, such as Blue Cross and Blue Shield, which are both private insurers and pay agents for governmental programs such as Medicare.

In these situations, these "insurance companies" do not function in their traditional roles as casualty insurers, but rather as cost-plus contract pay agents and, in this role, their activities neatly interface with both the AMA's monopolization efforts and the "hidden bureaucratic agendas" of regulatory agencies.

It is this combination of the AMA, acting through a front organization, the "insurance" companies who are not insuring but acting as cost-plus contract pay agents and the regulatory agencies involved in a "hidden agenda" which in combination, are bringing about and attempting to bring about the monopoly in health care which the AMA has been engaged in creating since 1890.

This combination has already succeeded in dangerously decreasing the quality of goods and services and astronomically increasing their price in the Relevant Service and Goods Market.

This has been accomplished by bureaucratic activity which is directly violative of the clearly articulated policies of the States and has as its purpose both increasing such costs and decreasing the quality of goods and services, and although it is state action, it is not such state action as is protected from Antitrust scrutiny by the State Action Exemption to the Antitrust Laws.

Medical historian Harris Coulter presents evidence to show that disabilities caused by vaccines are often "disguised" under different names: autism, dyslexia, learning disability, epilepsy, mental retardation, hyperactivity & minimal brain dysfunction. Up to 25% of American schoolchildren suffer from "development disabilities". A classic.

'...It is the thesis of this remarkable book that early vaccinations can result in mild cases of sub-clinical encephalitis which, in turn, may well be responsible -- at least in part -- for the increase in autism, hyperactivity, dyslexia, sociopathy, and developmental disabilities, a rise that roughly coincides with the initiation of infant vaccinations. Coulter suggests further linkages to the increase in adolescent crime and suicide, and the decline in SAT scores.' Stanley Kripner, AHP, January 1993.
