Introduction

We live in a dangerous world. What you do not know can hurt you. The purpose of this report is to help you to better understand and protect yourself from the many dangers that threaten your economic survival.

Section 1

The Current Landscape (Battlefield)

"America has degenerated into the most litigious society in the history of the World."

There are now well over one million attorneys in our country - that's 70% of the world's attorney population, and Americans only comprise 5% of the world's people! Our law schools are presently graduating over 40,000 attorneys a year.

For every 20 engineers, Japan only has one attorney. For every 2.5 attorneys, we have just one engineer. Is it any wonder we can't find justice?

In 1993, the American Bar Association estimated there to be a 37% probability of the average American becoming involved in some form of legal action in any given year. This, of course, is very good news to the trial attorney who will charge you an average of $100/hr and up: and whether he wins or loses your case, he still gets paid!

What would you do if you were to be sued today?

Hire an attorney?

In many cases, having an attorney is worse than not having an attorney at all!

At an American Bar Association dinner in New York in 1978, U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice Warren Burger, as the guest speaker, stated:

"Ninety percent of all trial attorneys in this country are incompetent."

If you believe that an attorney can always better represent you than you can represent yourself, you have bought the attorney's lie that, "The man that represents himself has a fool for a client."

Did you believe that an attorney will always represent your best interests first?

"The Attorney is an Officer of the Court. His first duty is to the courts and the public, not to his client" 7 Corpus Juris Secundum, §4, pg. 802

The American landscape today is filled with many dangers - any of which can spell financial disaster for you. Here are just a few of them:

a. Out of control lawsuits
b. Bloated government with an ever-increasing appetite
c. Advancing Socialism
d. Insane "over-regulation"

Out of Control Lawsuits

As noted in the opening quotation, lawsuits have now become so prevalent that you can no longer believe that you will not be affected. It is now a matter of "when" not "if" a lawsuit enters your life.

Bloated Government

Bloated governments are expanding at an incredible pace and they never seem to have enough money. Their growing appetite and inefficiency causes them to need more and more tax revenue.

When they can't tax any more, they begin "licensing" and "permitting" those things that are supposed to be our "rights" and they tack on another fee. When they get desperate they resort to outright confiscation of the people's private property!

Advancing Socialist Philosophy

Another dangerous trend is the Advancing Socialist Philosophy. This is the philosophy of "government knows best". This Advancing Socialist Philosophy punishes innovation and industry and rewards
laziness and non-productivity.

In 1848, Karl Heinrich Marx wrote the Communist Manifesto, which has since become the most widely read political pamphlet in the history of the world.

These are Nine Planks of the Manifesto [author's comments in
brackets]:

1. Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes. [Property taxes are "rent".]

2. A heavy progressive or graduating income tax. [Internal Revenue Code]

3. Abolition of all right of inheritance. [Estate and inheritance taxes]

4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels. [Ashcroft's Patriot Act: If you are designated a rebel "Enemy Combatant" you lose all constitutional rights.]

5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the State, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly. [Federal Reserve]

6. Centralization of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State. [FCC, TSA, controlled media]

7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State, the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.

8. Equal liability of all to labor. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.

9. Free education for all children in public schools. [Our public schools no longer teach the Constitution and have virtually eliminated God from the classrooms.]

Source: Economic Solutions, Peter Kershaw, 1997

Many people will argue that most of these Planks are already in place!

What do you think?

Insane "Over-Regulation"

Do you believe we live in a "free" country? Try and do something without a permit, license, or Social Security Number (read: Socialist Security Number).

"And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." Revelation 13:17

The immense explosion of laws, codes, ordinances, and regulations have created one the greatest threats to one's assets and private property. The following quote from Ayn Rand's novel says it well:

"Did you really think that we want those laws to be observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We WANT them broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against - then you'll know that this is not the age of beautiful gestures. We're after power and we mean it. You fellows were piker's, but we know the real trick, and you'd better get wise to it. There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one 'makes' them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens?

But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted - and you create a nation of law-breakers - and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system,
Mr. Rearden, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with."
(Page 406 of Atlas Shrugged, Ayn Rand).

Consider another quote concerning the voluminous 6000 plus pages of the Internal Revenue Code that no one understands:

"Is it possible to ever learn the truth about income taxes, especially in light of all the confusion, if not blatant misinformation? Yes, you can, but not by trusting attorneys and accountants. These, after all, are highly compromised individuals - taxes are their very livelihood! Higher taxation and more tax
laws with ever-increasing complexity are to their advantage. Yet, even these tax "professionals" seldom have a clue as to how to properly interpret the tax laws. The results of a 1989 Money Magazine survey of 50 top "Professional Tax Preparers," unequivocally demonstrates the utter ncomprehensibility of the income tax laws.

The fifty preparers were given the assignment of preparing tax returns for a fictitious American family. None of them arrived at even close to the same bottom line figure. In fact, discrepancies ranged anywhere from $12,539 to $35,813! Imagine the absurdity of trying to figure your own taxes correctly,
when even the "professionals" are incapable of doing so!" - Economic Solutions, Peter Kershaw, 1997

In fact a survey in 2003 showed that the IRS "help line" gave wrong answers to taxpayers questions 47% of the time!

In summary, we live in a dangerous world and the American landscape is fraught with land mines that are direct threats to your financial well being.

Section 2

Economic Slavery

Americans, living in what is called the richest nation on earth, seem always to be short of money. Wives are working in unprecedented numbers, husbands hope for overtime hours to earn more, or take part-time jobs evenings and weekends, children look for odd jobs for spending money, the family debt climbs higher, and psychologists say one of the biggest causes of family quarrels and breakups is "arguments over money." - Billions for the Bankers, Debt for the People, Pastor Sheldon Emry

What they don't tell you is that, after inflation, taxes and debt payments...most people are worse off than when they started! They are simply taking one step forward and two steps back and they wonder why they never get ahead!

Consider this statistic from a recent government report:

At age 65, ninety-five out of one hundred people will be dependent in some way upon their family, their church, or the government. Four of them will be comfortable and only one will be rich.

Society has been so "anesthetized" by television and recreation that we don't see our money being taken from us from right under our noses. Most people in America can tell you what episode of "Survivor" they saw last night but they can't tell you the last time they read the united states Constitution or the Declaration of Independence! Did you know that our Founding Fathers revolted
over a 5% tax by the King of England? Yet today Americans pay as much as 50% in local, state and federal taxes!

"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their money, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them (around the banks), will deprive the people of their property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their
fathers conquered." Thomas Jefferson

Because the Federal Reserve is privately owned by international banking families, and 'creates' our money by loaning it to our nation, it is mathematically impossible to ever repay the national debt. We are slowly and methodically progressing towards the day our nation goes bankrupt.

When this happens we will see the rapid drop in the value of the dollar. This will shatter our current economic condition and create the "mother of all depressions".

For a sneak peak into our future do an Internet search on Argentina's recent default on their national debt in 2002. When this happened the Argentine Peso lost over 60% of its value in less than six months! Unemployment soared to over 25% percent and the country went from being a thriving economy to a third world country.

"No currency has suffered a smaller loss from inflation since World War II than the German Mark. Yet even so, 71 percent of it's value vanished between January 1, 1949, and the end of June 1995. The world reserve currency during this period, the U.S. Dollar, lost 84 percent of its value. This is a measure of the wealth that governments expropriated by exploiting their territorial monopolies
on legal tender." From The Sovereign Individual, by James Dale Davidson and Lord William Rees-Mogg

The Federal Reserve, by attempting to regulate the economy with the expansion and contraction of credit, has created an economic environment that greatly magnifies our boom and bust cycle. The "boom" times are signified by greatly exaggerated prices like the stock market "bubble" of the nineties and the housing bubble of the years 2003 - 2005.

Combine these two major forces and it doesn't take much to recognize that we are in for some very rough seas over the next 10 to 15 years. The place to be during these tumultuous times will be in precious metals. In times of economic uncertainty people will flock to gold and silver.

Gold and Silver have been real money since biblical times - long before "paper" money was created - and they will be here long after "paper money" returns to its intrinsic value which is nothing.

Here are some interesting quotes on gold:

"For more than two thousand years gold's natural qualities made it man's universal medium of exchange. In contrast to political money, gold is honest money that survived the ages and will live on long after the political fiats of today have gone the way of all paper." Hans F. Sennholz

"If you don't trust gold, do you trust the logic of taking a beautiful pine tree, worth about $4,000 - $5,000, cutting it up, turning it into pulp and then paper, putting some ink on it and then calling it one billion dollars?" Kenneth J. Gerbino

"Gold is not less but more rational than paper money. Money holds value so long as it is in limited supply; gold will always be in limited supply, and would require real resources to produce even from the sea; paper and printing ink are not in limited supply. The gold system is much closer to a modern automatic scientific control system than the crude and relatively unstable system of paper." William Rees-Mogg

"Of all the contrivances for cheating the laboring classes of mankind, none has been more effective than that which deludes them with paper money." Daniel Webster

"Betting against gold is the same as betting on governments. He who bets on governments and government money bets against 6,000 years of recorded human history." Gary North

"Gold is worshiped in all climates, without a single temple, and by all classes, without a single hypocrite.
Caleb C. Colton

Section 3

Solutions

How do you protect yourself and your assets in these treacherous times?

We believe that there are two critical steps that you must take to protect your financial future.

The first thing you must do is protect your current assets so they are insulated from these financial threats.

The second thing you must do is create additional sources of income that will help you weather the storms that comes your way.

Asset Protection for Current and Future Wealth Asset Protection is the act of positioning your assets in such a way that they are out of reach of predators, lawsuits and even government agencies. The key is to "control" your assets without actually "owning" them.

A good Asset Protection Plan is designed to make your assets difficult to discover or too expensive to pursue.

A good Asset Protection Plan is put into place before it is needed. In a sense, it is a type of insurance that will enable you to sleep well at night knowing that you are protected.

How do you "control" your assets without actually "owning" them?

First, let us define "asset". An asset is anything of value that you want to preserve or protect against hostile third parties.

To protect your valued assets against these predators you must own your assets in an entity other than in your own name. There are many types of entities that you can choose from and here are just a few:

Corporations
Partnerships
Trusts
Limited Liability Companies (LLCs)

When you "control" the company you also control the checkbook. As the President or Manager of your company you make all the decisions on behalf of the company and benefit from all the assets of the company.

Corporations work well but are often difficult to maintain and, If you do not keep proper records, you can lose your personal liability protection.

General Partnerships are generally not effective in asset protection although Limited Partnerships offer some liability protection.

Limited Liability Companies are quickly replacing Limited Partnerships as Asset Protection vehicles.

Limited Liability Companies have become the premiere Asset Protection vehicle because of their superior asset protection features, their ease of operation, their low maintenance, and their relatively low cost.

A Trust is an effective Asset Protection vehicle but only if it is an irrevocable trust. This simply means that you give up control of the trust to an independent trustee.

An Unicorporated Business Trust Organization takes the limited liability features of a corporation and combines them with the "pass through" tax benefits of a partnership. It is literally the best of both worlds.

U.B.T.O.'s are flexible and simple to form and are much easier to maintain than other entities.

Internationally, the U.B.T.O. is the most common form of business entity in use.

The Unincorporated Business Trust Organization is now the entity of choice for individuals and businesses seeking the ultimate in privacy and asset protection.

You also have a much lower profile.

The Unicorporated Business Trust Organization is one of the ultimate asset protection and privacy tools!

With an Unincorporated Business Trust Organization Protecting Real Estate, Rental Property, Business Assets, and Financial Accounts with Multiple U.B.T.O.'s

The basic idea when using U.B.T.O.'s as an Asset Protection Strategy is to separate High Risk Assets (cars, businesses, rentals) from Low Risk Assets (bank accounts, stocks, bonds, mutual funds).

You can buy just about any kind of personal and real property in separate U.B.T.O. to maintain maximum privacy and asset protection.

You can also have your business assets, real estate, and equipment owned by a separate M.T. (or multiple U.B.T.O.'s) and then lease them back to your business.

Owning a Vehicle With An U.B.T.O.:

U.B.T.O.'s are a great privacy tool and are great for owning cars, heavy equipment, and recreational vehicles.

Imagine you are in an auto accident and you are sued. When the hostile party discovers that the owner of the vehicle is an U.B.T.O. (which has no other assets) and that you don't own anything either (your assets are owned by other U.B.T.O.s) they give up or settle at a greatly reduced amount.

The more assets you have, the more U.B.T.O.s you may want to set up.

Why a Bank may be the worst place for Your Money:

Did you know that banks may be the worst place to keep your money?

Try this little experiment:

Pick up your Account Holder Agreement (if you don't have one go pick one up from the bank) and read it. Here is what one from Wells Fargo states:

"The Bank may accept and act on any legal process that it believes is valid, whether served in person, by mail or by facsimile transmission, at any Bank location. Legal process includes, without limitation,
a levy, garnishment or attachment, tax levy or withholding order, injunction, restraining order, subpoena, search warrant, government agency request for information or forfeiture relating to your account."

Does that make you sleep well at night? With the new, so-called "Patriot Laws" if you "look" suspicious you are at risk! (What does a suspicious person look like?)

It gets worse. You must first understand the monster called "fractional reserve banking" (which is the way our banks operate). *Fractional Reserve Banking means what it says. The banks only keep a fraction of the deposits on hand as reserves to cover any withdrawals.

Sounds innocent enough but let's examine it further:

Banks only keep about $1 in reserves for every $10 in deposits. This means that if more than one out of every ten account holders were to appear at the same time at the bank to make a withdrawal,
THE MONEY WOULDN'T BE THERE!

Another way of looking at this is the fact that the banks have the ability to loan out $10 for every $1 they take in!

If you think Enron and WorldCom had crooked books, this makes them pale in comparison! Banks have the ability to create money out of thin air. If we tried that we would be thrown in prison for
counterfeiting!

What about the FDIC?

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation only has about 1/2 of 1% in reserves to cover insurance claims. The FDIC is nothing more than a "confidence" game.

What's the solution?

One solution is to keep as little money as possible in your bank. Only use banks to cash your checks.

Take Action

Never before in history has there been such a threat to your personal financial security than right now. Like the story of Noah's Ark in the Old Testament, you must build your financial lifeboat before you need it. When the rains come it will already be too late.

It's A Little Disappointing To Report

I believe that the children in elementary school today will be the first generation not to have a better opportunity for success and advancement than their parents. I'm not a predictor of doom and gloom, in-fact, quite the opposite; however, with the expense of raising and educating children, the cost of housing (rent or mortgage) and ever escalating property taxes, the fear of people living longer than their retirement portfolios can sustain them and for many other reasons, parents, in the majority of cases, will just not have the financial ability to help out their children or grandchildren with what traditionally was a parents pride; to help with college and/or help them with their first home purchase. For most families, the expensive wedding might also go the way of the dinosaur.

Job opportunities are not as plentiful as they once were with manufacturing jobs leaving our nation in hoards and droves. Lower paying jobs have been filled largely by illegal immigrants and the Federal Government has told us that Social Security will be bankrupt before elementary school age children will be age 67. At 46, I'm worried that Congress will continue to tax me with higher rates and limits to fund a Social Security bailout, yet, when it's my turn to collect, they will find some sort of criteria not to pay me like: too many assets, too high an annual income, or too young, as they continue to raise the eligibility age and the ultimate reason not to pay, there just ain't no more money left!

Schools are continuing to produce lower quality graduates, with limited thinking and reasoning skills overall. How many of us have witnessed the teenager unable to calculate the correct change unless the computerized cash register tells them exactly what to give back. Gone are the days of penmanship and memorization. New math and ''No child left behind'' didn't produce the desired effects and more and more colleges are being forced to teach basic skills and remedial programs to supplement where the high schools fell short. In last Sunday's ''Record'' newspaper, it was reported that Paterson will receive over $480,000,000 in State aid for it's schools, by comparison, Pompton Lakes will receive just over $4,000,000. The huge State increase in allocation to inner city schools failed to demonstrate a higher output of educated and well prepared students ready to become capable, inspired and productive citizens. A Paterson teacher I am acquainted with shared a story with me that one of her students told her that learning math was unimportant as she was going to be a prostitute when she was a little older and didn't need to waste her time in math class. This teacher, brilliantly responded, ''well, that might be, but how will you know to give the correct change to your customers if they don't pay the exact amount for your services?'' The young girl thought for a moment and realized that she better learn the math, as not to be cheated.

Since a portion of the tax dollars you and I pay to NJ are being sent to Paterson and other inner cities for education and other good reasons, we're told, I felt compelled to share this teacher's story. Kudos to this brave teacher that didn't react to the child's career choice, but, instead spoke to her on her own wave length letting the child come to her own conclusion that it was in her best interest to stay in and be self motivated during mathematics class.

There is a way that we can help our kids and their kids to have the best chance at succeeding and let me tell you what I think it is. We all know that an abundance of money gives the people who possess it great options and choices unavailable otherwise. Therefore, we need to help them accumulate large sums of money for when they need it most: college, first home purchase, when our children become parents and for their own retirement. The first way to guarantee a large tax-free pot of money is to purchase a life insurance policy on our own lives for our children's benefit or our own! Whether you are age 1 or 89 or something in-between, given slightly below average health or better, you are a candidate for life insurance. Premiums are never wasted with a properly designed life insurance policy since life insurance is the only insurance policy one can buy that is guaranteed to pay a claim! Someone wins and that can be the insured also! A life insurance purchase can be described as an absolute statement of love for ones beneficiaries. Beyond that though are the living benefits associated with life insurance policies.

A grandparent can purchase a policy on the life of a grandchild where all of the cash value growth will be tax-deferred and the majority of the cash can be accessible for any reason at any time. Premiums may be paid for as little as 5 years and when applied based on an elementary school age child's life, has the potential to grow to produce millions of dollars of tax-advantaged retirement income for the grandchild in his/her retirement years. This is a fascinating concept and everyone should see how it works especially when compared to mutual funds as the commonly used example. Historically, cash accumulation life insurance policies cash values and tax-deferred annuities are exempt from the financial aid calculation when kids are applying for college. Most life insurance policies sold today credit interest based on some form of investment or investment type formula and offer rewarding deals. If you've been out of the life insurance buying circuit for awhile, it's time for a second look.

Another winning concept is to invest small sums of money over large amounts of time, preferably in a tax-deferred environment with equity exposure. Historically, this concept has proven successful in accumulating wealth. My favorite concept in accumulating wealth, something neither the local, state nor federal government is interested in doing is, STOP SPENDING FRIVOLOUSLY! Finally, in order to accumulate more wealth we need to earn more money. This can be accomplished by asking for a raise, getting a second job or getting a better one. Some people go into business for themselves utilizing all of their entrepreneurial spirit. And others find getting married or having a life partner brings in a second paycheck that should be invested rather than increasing your standard of living.

We have an obligation to provide for our families as written in our genetic code, the Bible code and our moral code. In addition, we are encouraged to give money to charity to help those less fortunate. I wish my grandfather left me $1,000,000 as it would make my life a bit easier right now and if your granddaddy had done that for you, you would be far better off too. Well, it probably wasn't done for you, but, you have the ability to elicit change in your family tree forever by creating a Legacy or Dynasty Trust funded by either your assets or that of a life insurance policy or both!

The bottom line is this: one cannot expect to accumulate wealth practicing financial behavior and techniques that only produce mediocrity. First, parents must lead by example, saving and investing 15% or more of their income. Next, they must teach their children the same lesson. Third, they must never miss a payment made into their own portfolio and fourth, eliminate all debts and debt creation with the exception of appreciating assets like real estate. This is not an easy, simple or a fun thing to do, but it works! I know because it is what I did to became a millionaire. I Read It, I Get It, But I Refuse To Accept It - A Survivors Response To The IARC Report On Cancer

Whenever anyone shows up to the party with bad news I always question the news they bring. Some people are like that, they really don't wish to see anyone having a good time so they tell you about the orphanage that burnt down or how bad the economy is or how bleak our future looks.

When the persons doing the talking are supposed to be the experts on the subject you are almost forced to take what is being said for granite. Thus what you have is optimism being oppressed by reality, a truly sad state of affairs.

Such is the case of the International Agency For Research on Cancer (IARC) and their report on the 20 year outlook for cancer fatalities.

The IARC is I believe an arm of the United Nations. ( No not where all the superheroes live, that's the justice league.) The article came out of London last week and boldly states that fatalities from cancer will double by the year 2030 with my arch nemesis, lung cancer, leading the way. Here's a startling little fact for you from the article, in 2008, lung cancer was the most commonly diagnosed form of cancer worldwide at 1.61 million cases. Lung cancer also accounted for the most fatalities at 1.38 million. Let's see a little quick math and that's roughly a 14 % survival rate if you are a true optimist. The overall figure of all cancers combined for 2008, 12.7 million diagnosed with 7.6 million fatalities. Now fast forward twenty years and we are faced with a staggering figure of 21.4 million worldwide cases along with 13.2 million fatalities.

If the director of the IARC, Christopher Wild, has provided us with his best assessment of the future then he is no longer invited to the party.

The research done to provide such a report I'm sure was completed by highly intelligent people, probably a panel of experts, top scientists, researchers, doctors, people who's walls hold many more plaques and certificates then mine ever will. Now let me tell you why I cannot accept their look into the crystal ball of our future.

As a current lung cancer survivor, I sometimes replace rational, practical thinking for straight passion in what I do and what I believe in. When I read a projection of this nature, it is a direct assault not only upon me but against every cancer group and organization worldwide. It's an indictment against who we are and what we stand for. If you are going to stand up and say, "Sorry, every mile you walked, every minute you've volunteered along with every dime that you have ever raised or donated to fund one of the many worthy cancer organizations or institutions that provide research that are out there was for nothing." Are you attempting to convince me that in a world of the future we have made no advances in the treatment of various cancers. Is what your saying to me and every other person, family, child, loved one on the face of the earth that we still have no answers, no cure, in fact it is getting worse? Are you telling me that the scientists and researchers who have dedicated their lives, spent the long, long hours in the laboratories the world over have lived a life in vain?

Why would I accept any of that? You might as well try to convince me that fighting for survival was not worth the fight.

The Human Factor.

Whenever I hear the phrase the "The Human Factor," it seems to be meant to conjure up that "We just could win this thing feeling." The feeling that even against overwhelming odds the human spirit will find a way to overcome and be successful. In this instance I believe the human factor has a darker idea behind it. It would seem to me that if we cannot reduce the fatalities from cancer in the future then the human factor is in play. In this case it would mean that the people who benefit more by us not finding a cure have won and are keeping the status quo meanwhile continuing to profit from overpriced treatments and medications billed on your behalf to insurance companies that are happy to pay it and then just raise the patients premiums to pay for it. A finely greased money machine. Let's face it there is plenty of money to be made at the cost of someone else's misery and if someday an executive should happen to find themselves battling a severe case of guilty conscience, Well, we feel bad for old Charlie, but Betty is waiting in the wings to keep the machine running please pass the torch.

If there are no significant advances made, you can bet your bottom dollar it's because curing cancer is not cost effective.

So if the human factor comes into play as it has over the past twenty years then what are some other things that we might have to look forward to in 2030?

To change our future some thing would have to change today. Before we start to discuss the need for alternative energy sources, health care, recycling, food and water safety, we must first discuss a fundamental change in the way we conduct business, starting at the top and working backwards.

First all lobbyist should be removed from the political system and anyone who has taken large amounts of lobby money from places like oil companies should be removed from office. So take the money and the special interest groups out of the politics and your left hopefully with people making decisions based on what is in our best interest. That would be a great advancement for our society.

In the future if we could change the current human factor thought process from "the one who dies with the most stuff wins," to "the one who gives back the most stuff wins," wouldn't that help brighten the future?

In the future, one day, what if we realized that just because we can afford to super size our meals, does not mean that it is in our best interest to do so.

What if in the future we outlawed plastic containers? No more water bottles, plastic storage devices, plastic food containers. Lets go back to glass. Why, you ask. For what's left of our environment. How about this, so we do not continue to add to the floating country the size of Texas that is made up of plastic garbage that has been dumped in the ocean where it gathers in the pacific out of sight out of mind. If you are not aware of this do some homework. If it's Texas sized now, in twenty years what will it be?

In the future if we took a step back and once again began growing our own food at least enough to supplement some of what is being purchased, could we not begin to alter the effects of all the chemicals placed in our food? Bring back the family farm and you will re grow strong communities, teaching our children how to be self sufficient and live a life based off of being good neighbors and not what some mindless bimbo is doing on reality TV. If you grew corn and your neighbor grew wheat maybe you would take the time to get to know them again and arrange a practical arrangement, without the fear of being sewed for stepping on their property.

With a change to the current "Human Factor", maybe we would have a universal healthcare system in this country like the rest of the civilized world. Maybe the wellbeing of each citizen would mean enough to us to disband the health insurance industry altogether and restructure the way the health system works.

Twenty years from now if we changed our thought process from being disposable consumers to being people more in tune with the world around them willing to give up a little in return for a better not necessarily easier life, would we see the results of that effort in our lifetime? Would our children or grandchildren?

Twenty years from now, will having it all, still mean the same thing? Or will decades of having it all finally have caught up with us and forced us to change what we were so unwilling to change when the decision was ours?

One of the greatest things about the country we live in is that we have the freedom to alter our future by simply opening our eyes to the present and as individuals making the necessary changes to our lifestyle, not necessarily the easiest changes to improve our life and health.

Twenty years is the blink of an eye, twenty years passes like the moon on a warm summers night. We could have such an impact in twenty years if we chose to. We could commit to alternative fuel sources, we could eliminate things from our lives that destroy our environment. We could change our eating habits to become healthier. We could change our buying habits to fit a lifestyle that doesn't end up being our downfall.

Twenty years from now we could reduce the cancer fatality rate by twenty five percent and we could do it without the need for new toxic remedies or even finding a cure after the cancer cells have been activated. Many of us talk about it all the time. I am constantly seeing articles referring to three things. Proper diet, exercise, natural vitamin sources. But the fact of the matter is this, you are probably reading this article and others like it because you have a connection to cancer already either you yourself have been effected or someone close to you. You are likely to already be aware of the effect of proper diet on the body, It is getting information out to everyone else who have not been directly effected but could easily find themselves as statistics twenty years from now.

Here's how you can have a direct impact on the future, help those who have not had a direct cancer impact, understand how to help themselves avoid it.

Cancer once it has begun, once the cells are active and spreading is unpredictable at best. Lung cancer is so lethal of a killer that it claims over seventy percent of those diagnosed. If we do not change some things right away, then I'm afraid that the U.N. report will be dead on accurate (please forgive the poor choice of phrase)if not understated. But the things that need to be changed need to come from each one of us. We have to be the ones who take charge of our lives, if we are waiting for the government to intervene then we are fools. If we are waiting for large health care or pharmaceutical companies to save us with a mystical cure, It is not in their best interest to cure it, just find new and expensive ways to treat it. Our best chance for a cure seems to me to be found on one of the many college campuses where research is performed. Of course the fear being that a cure will be found and then tied up and obscured in the red tape world we live in. A cure for cancer, is going to cost some big businesses a whole lot of cash when discovered.

Let's talk about that way to reduce the fatality rate. Cancer cells have the capability of killing you once they become active and begin to multiply and spread. Cancer cells are present in everyone's body but they are held at bay by our immune systems. It is when we have a fundamental breakdown in our immune systems that the flood gates open for the multiplication of cancer cells.

If you allow enough cancer cells to gather and that's when you have problems my friend. Now pay attention please. The best way to reduce cancer fatalities, the best way to fight cancer.....avoid it. You cannot avoid having bad cells in your body, what you can avoid is letting your immune system go to hell and opening yourself up for an attack.

For the future, let's just concentrate on what we know and what we can control. First of all, you can greatly reduce many life threatening illnesses including cancer by keeping your bodies ph balance level. If you began today to make healthier dietary choices and began to reduce your intake of fast foods or questionably prepared foods you would be taking a step in the right direction. If you started questioning where the meat you purchase comes from, how it is raised, how it is prepared for market and what type of chemicals are used in raising it, you would be making a step in the right direction. Farm fresh does not substitute for organic. I believe and I'm not alone, that the immune system is effected greatly by our intake of various chemicals in our industrial farm produced foods. Take control of what you eat. Reduce the amount of coffee you drink maybe supplement green tea for coffee. You need to find ways to reduce the amount of acid you are adding to your body. Cancer cells thrive in an acidic environment. Meat is also a high acid contributor which is why fish and chicken are considered better for you then beef and pork.

Vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants are vital to helping grow and unleash the cells in our bodies that kill things like cancer cells keeping them in check.

Exercise and sunlight, these two things can not be understated. Unfortunately, we have found a way to make exercise a multi billion dollar industry and we as a society have changed the definition of exercise to joining a gym or buying a ton of equipment. Let me help you out with this, walk, learn some deep breathing exercises, cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Walk and preferably take a walk in the sunshine, the body needs sunshine it helps keep everything in check. What else does the body need? Water. We are organic beings and if you look at it in that manner, Sunshine, water proper intake of minerals avoidance of harmful toxins. Couple some dietary alterations with finding ways to reduce stress in your life and your well on your way to avoiding becoming a 2030 statistic.

If in places where it were possible we could alter our over eating and poor choice eating habits I think we reduce cancer as well as other major disease fatalities greatly. If we remain too busy to care, too busy to teach our children better habits, too busy to stop and look at the world we have forged for ourselves, then I am afraid that everything will be in vain. I'm afraid we will visit a future where over thirteen million people dieing from cancer alone will be just a small piece of a much larger problem.

I am not asking you to donate money, I'm not asking you to walk a marathon. I'm not asking you to completely change or live your life afraid that the sky might be falling. What I am asking for is that you open your mind to finding better ways to live in the future by making small changes now starting with your health and the health of the people you are responsible for. Then let's look at the way we do things, the way we govern ourselves and our actions and the things we need to do to reduce cancer by fifty percent in the year 2050.

General Agents Insurance Company Report - Revisiting Midland National Life Insurance Company

For decades, Midland National Life Insurance Company, has stood out as one the premier insurers for General Agents to represent. Due to recent economic financial fluctuations, revisiting Midland National Life in this report is critical.

1906 was when history began for Midland National Life Insurance Company. This company aspires to the values of integrity, openness, respect, and accountability. Unfortunately, in the last few years robust selling of fixed-indexed annuity plans drove rapid net premium growth beyond initial expectations. Attempting to change from a well-known General Agents Insurance Company to a GA and brokerage combination insurer resulted in early great results, then leading to questionable financial stability.

Midland National Life Insurance Company was purchased 1n 1958 by C.A. Sammons & Associates of Dallas. Charles Sammons already was the president of Reserve Life and owned eight life insurance companies. Today the two key subsidiaries of the Sammons Financial Group of Chicago are Midland National and NACOLAH, North American Company for Life and Health Insurance. Actually, they are similar companies looking at the annuity brokerage, General Agents, and PPGA's, personal producing general agents. A General Agent often has insurance agents under his contract, while a PPGA tends to work independently. Over them is a District Sales Manager and/or a Regional Sales Manager reporting direct to the company.

General Agents are drawn to the insurer because of three main factors. First there was a non pressure General Agent contract that also allowed doing business with other providers. Next is the very strong line of marketable Universal Life and Term insurance policies, along with a diverse portfolio. Third, the commissions paid to GA's and PPGA's were very competitive and favorable. In addition, it was easy to receive a home office response to any question or difficulty that occurred.

Midland National Life operates in 49 states, DC, military bases, etc. The life operations are all handled out of Sioux Falls, SD with annuity activities headquartered in W Des Moines, IA. Very unique is that the company ownership is privately held with employee shareholders. The high amount of liquidity holdings might be key assets during these crucial times.

Using distinct channels of distribution Midland and North American Company for Life and Health Insurance decided to belong strongly involved in singing up brokers to sell its fixed indexed annuity products. Something now both insurers would like to report that they never were successful at selling. Having considerable risk concentrated in large fixed income investments of a security nature was clearly being in the wrong market at the wrong time.

Thanks to strong product diversification and significant liquidity before the financial bomb struck, Midland National Life Insurance Company should pull itself through. The lowering of its ratings does not help induce confidence in the insurer. The shame is that this great General Agent insurance company is taking a huge hit because of an unwise brokerage decision. My prediction is that there is a future ahead for them, at first dim and gradually returning to very bright. Next time they are revisited the situation will definitely be changed.

WWF's Living Planet Report 2006

In October 2006, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) released its annual 'Living Planet Report' - detailing the global impact on natural resources and the declining numbers of animal species that are dependent upon them. It also offered solutions on how to reverse the downward trends in these areas. This year's report also explores the impact of human activity on the planet and concludes that the world's natural ecosystems are being run down at a rate never seen before in human history.

The 'Living Planet Report' makes the terrifying inference that the world's population of vertebrate species have declined by a third since 1970, thus confirming the worst of human fears: that humanity is using up the planet's resources at a much faster rate than which they can be produced. Carter S. Roberts, President and CEO of the WWF, commented:

"The bottom line of this report could not be more clear - for twenty years we've lived our lives in a way that far exceeds the carrying capacity of the Earth. The choices we make today will shape the possibilities for the generations which follow us. The fact that we live beyond our means in our use of natural resources will surely limit opportunities for future generations to follow."

In fact, the USA, as the world's foremost consumer society, is seen to be at the forefront of what the WWF report calls 'resource overshoot' - the use of more resources than is sustainable by the planet. This makes it all the more important for institutions in the USA - including the government, parents and teachers - to teach our children (the "future generations" that Roberts talks about) with such concern of exactly how harmful human behaviour can be to the planet.

In an attempt to try to educate children, there has, to date been a variety of efforts made by different sources on how best to preserve the environment for future life. For example, the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) runs a children's educational resource called TUNZA, which aims to work in partnership with children across the world in order to equip them with the tools needed to maintain the environment for their own children in turn.

With environmental and wildlife awareness having become so much more prevalent in popular culture during the last ten years - through sources as wide ranging as The Body Shop's 1990s product packaging, through to Al Gore's recent movie 'An Inconvenient Truth' - many larger organisations that are not traditionally associated with education have jumped on board. For instance, Doubletree hotels runs a program called 'Teaching Kids to CARE®' - a special educational initiative that aims to bring wildlife and environmental awareness to the forefront of the classroom.

With the continued initiation of this and other, similar programs both in America and across the world, there is the possibility that such programs will enable a reversal of the downward trend of environmental damage; perhaps allowing for the WWF's Living Planet Report to predict a much more promising future for the world in future years.
