Recession Proof Income With Affiliate Marketing

One of the best and quickest ways to recession proof your income is through niche affiliate marketing in recession proof industries. Some things are consumed in any economy because people feel they need it or they want it.

Some economists and journalists define a recession as two consecutive quarters in which the gross domestic product (GDP) decreases. The GDP is the value of all the reported goods and services produced by people and institutions operating in a country. An overall decrease in the value of goods and services indicates that demand has decreased in most markets.

The official determination of recession is left to the Business Cycle Dating Committee (no, that is not a relationship service for pencil pushers) at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). It is not a government agency but a private organization that works to further understand the economy. The GDP is not the most important factor they consider. They give more weight to personal income, the national employment rate, sales in manufacturing and trade, and industrial production.

But you and I don't care about all that. All we know is that it costs more to fill the car's tank; that, because of real estate tax and homeowner's insurance premium increases, the house payment is getting higher; that the grocery budget doesn't seem to buy as much as it did 12-18 months ago. And just when we need it the most, if we have any money saved, it doesn't seem to be working very hard for us. If you work in an industry that tends to reflect an economic slowdown you may be worried about layoffs, cutbacks, or smaller or no raises come evaluation time.

Wouldn't it be nice to know that your income producing work was in an area of the economy that is recession proof?

Keep in mind that there are many variations in each of these industries. But you have some choices; you can work for someone else that is involved in one of these industries, or you can market to people or companies that have ties to these industries, or both. Pick the choice you have the most control over, learn all you can about how to do it while you make money at it (I recommend niche affiliate marketing at first), and never worry again about the state of the economy.

Beware of the Disability Income E&O Lawsuit

Fifteen years ago, the DI rules were intuitive. Physicals and blood work were the status quo and those with quadruple bypasses or diabetes could run marathons easier than they could qualify for disability income insurance.

Flash forward to 2010

Heart patients, diabetics, alcoholics, drug addicts and antidepressant users now receive disability income insurance coverage every day. And, they're doing it honestly - with no physical examinations and no blood work. Moreover, they're getting quality disability income coverage with short elimination periods; Own Occupation definitions; survivor benefits; hospital indemnity benefits; home health care benefits and all the other bells and whistles they might like.

The old rules no longer apply - in fact they're downright counterintuitive.

Brokers' books are full of clients who previously would have been declined, but today, with the right partner, would be accepted. Why worry about these people? For one, it's the right thing to do and for two, it earns extra commission. But the most compelling reason of all may be this: Errors and Omissions. Insurance brokers who don't offer their clients the coverage they need can be sued if a client suffers disability and is not adequately protected. This is a bit like a doctor's requirement to keep her license current - brokers are obligated to be informed of available coverage and to protect their clients with the best options available.

With that duty to be informed in mind, here are the facts:

One-third of all people between the ages of 30 and 64 will become disabled sometime in their lives. (Source: Health Insurance Association of America)
At age 32, the chance of being disabled for 90 days in 6.5 times greater than the chance of death. (Source: National Association of Insurance Commissioners)
75 percent of disabilities are caused by an illness rather than an accident. (Source: Commissioner's Disability Table)

Most Americans readily understand the need for life insurance.

Now, with these facts and statistics, disability producers can easily illustrate that disability income insurance is more important than life insurance for the lion's share of working Americans. Many mistakenly believe that they are adequately protected by Social Security or Long-Term Disability plans. However, the income from these plans is often taxable and can be subject to long waiting periods. In fact, many plans leave income gaps as wide as 72 percent of gross income. Most people won't relish the thought of living on 28 percent of their gross pay!

Now is the time to take another look at disability income insurance!

Forget that the market for medically impaired disability income insurance is huge. Forget that the commissions are generous. Forget that this is an amazingly easy sale when one presents factual data about the risks involved. And remember this one simple truth: Insurance professionals have a duty to protect their clients. Now that you know what's available, don't you owe your previously declined clients a phone call?

Have You Ever Dreamt of Making a Full Time Income From Your Hobbies and Interests?

Have you ever dreamt of making a full time income from your hobbies, interests and the activities you enjoy?

Government statistics shows you can!

If it's a hobby you're passionate about, a special skill you possess or inside knowledge that would intrigue others! You can create a Thriving profitable business just by doing what you love to do each and every day!

"The Facts... A multi-Billion pound industry!"

According to National statistics the average UK household will spend at least £57.40 a week on recreation and their hobbies that's a minimum of £2984.80 per household, per year spent on hobbies and recreation, it's the second highest spend for the typical UK household and only second to the £61.70 spent on transport cost, (car, insurance, petrol, tax, repairs etc...)

The statistics show that more money is spent on recreation and hobbies, then food and drink, housing fuel and power, clothing and footwear, household goods and services, education and even health.

Research also carried out by national statistics estimates that there were 61.4 million people living in the UK in 2008 with that figure set to rise by 4 million by 2018 and the population is set to hit 71.6 million by 2033.

The research showed there are 23.8 million households in the UK. That means the estimated yearly spend on hobbies and recreation in the UK alone is 68 Billion pounds and rising year on year.

"Defying recession, a trend for spending!"

UK national statistics show that 18.3 million households in the UK (70 per cent) had Internet access in 2009. This is an increase of just under 2 million households (11 per cent) over the last year and 4 million households (28 per cent) since 2006.

Sixty-three per cent of all UK households had a broadband connection in 2009, up from 56 per cent in 2008. Of those households with Internet access, 90 per cent had a broadband connection in 2009, an increase from 69 per cent in 2006.

In 2009, 37.4 million adults (76 per cent of the UK adult population) accessed the Internet in the three months prior to the national statistics interview. The number of adults who had never accessed the Internet fell to 10.2 million (21 per cent) in 2009.

Sixty four per cent of all adults who were recent Internet users (having accessed the Internet in the three months prior to the national statistics interview) had ever purchased goods or services over the Internet.

Of these, 83 per cent (26 million) had purchased within the last three months.

"UK online spending to reach £56bn by 2014"

Online spending in the UK is set to reach £56bn by 2014 as the web defies the recession, according to analyst Forrester Research.

Internet sales are set to grow at a yearly rate of six per cent over the next six years, says the survey, which covered more than 4,100 UK consumers as well as large retailers with a web presence.

According to Forrester, around 28 million UK consumers shop online today and the figure is set to jump to 37 million by 2014, the equivalent of £56Billion in value.

UK consumers are leading the online shopping trend, with spending reaching around £1,312 per person per year. By comparison, Germans spend £771 a year online and the French spend £693 annually.

"Even leading UK retailers such as Argos, Next, and Tesco have begun integrating their channels in search of seamless cross-channel customer experiences to help drive substantial sales growth," says the Forrester report.

Popular items among online shoppers in the UK are books, DVDs and leisure travel, while the French are likely to shop for clothes, books and leisure travel. Books, clothing and event tickets are the most common items to be purchased online in Germany.

"For the past decade, online shopping in the UK has been driven by a virtuous cycle," said Forrester retail analyst Victoria Bracewell Lewis.

"Growing numbers of UK online shoppers and growing online spend per shopper encourage retailers and travel operators to improve their online offerings, which in turn draw more shoppers and higher spending."

According to the IMRG Capgemini e-Retail Sales Index, UK shoppers spent over £4.6Billion during the Christmas period last year, an increase of more than 14 per cent year on year - equivalent to £76.67 for every person in the UK.

The studies also show that in 2008 UK consumers had spent £13billion online in the first three months of the year, the equivalent to £213 for every person in the country.

"Getting in on the action... here are the facts!"

We know from real fact based statistics that online consumer spending is on the rise year on year.

We also know through these statistics that the second highest household spend in the UK, is money spent on recreation and hobbies... yes! Even higher then spending on housing costs, food, clothing, education and health. Which means - "people love to spend money on their hobbies and interests".

Statistics also show us that the most purchased items online in the UK are books, DVDs and travel leisure.

It makes practical and logical sense to produce and sell the most purchased items online in the UK. It also makes sense that we create these items related to hobbies and recreation which is a multi billion pound industry and the second highest household spend in the UK.

When it comes to hobbies and interests there are also tens of thousands of topics, sub topics and subjects to choose from and most of these hobbies and interests are completely over looked by major companies, competition and the mainstream media. Meaning there is big money to be made by the little guy.

"Replacing your current income and beyond"

Books and DVDs are extremely cheap to reproduce, with a professional book costing around a penny per page to reproduce with a retail price of £5 - £12.

DVDs however take profits to a whole new level, with reproduction costs around £1 to £1.50 and a retail price of anything from £20 - £50 depending on the topic, subject and availability of the DVD. Mark ups of 5000%

These profit margins are worlds apart compared to the 5 - 30% mark up on retail and wholesale items.

"Doing the maths"

If you had a DVD that retailed at £20 and had a duplication cost of £1 per DVD, this includes art work, printing, case, blank disc and shrink wrapping. That means for every 1000 DVDs you sell you would make £19,000 in profit! Selling 5000 DVDs a year would net you £95,000 per year pre tax profit. 5000 may sound like a lot of DVDs to sell, the truth is, it is if you go the wrong way about it, however if you follow the right plan and take the appropriate steps then it can be achieved and more!

"The perfect product!"

The statistics show hobbies are what people love to spend their money on, they also show that DVDs are one of the most purchased items online, and from my companies experience we know the process and costs of creating and selling DVDs returns the highest rate of profits and the lowest need to make sales?

"Higher profits, means we reduce the number of customers we need to find each year, we also require less sales to reach a high level of income!"

Our DVD postage cost are very little in the UK and worldwide, we pack our DVDs in cases which are almost indestructible and never get damaged in the post, they're light weight, we've never had a case of postal theft and the DVDs fit through any standard letter box.

They cost very little to reproduce, are very cheap to ship and have very high profit margins and returns.

"The media revolution... here are the facts!"

Studies show that the average person in the UK that lives to the age of 72 years old would have watched the equivalent to 8 solid years of television. "8 years!"

People are also looking for new things to watch related to their hobbies and what interests them most.

*Are there any big competition to this line of business?

*Are National TV shows and channels a threat to your success?

DVD productions that are "hobby" "teaching" "training" and "How-to based" have no threat from mainstream TV. Mainstream TV produce mainly Dramas, films, documentaries, soaps, shopping, sports, news and reality.

DVD productions based on our hobbies are for example and as followed:

Health and beauty:

Your guide to Bridal hairstyles
How-to Become a beauty Nail technician
Poll dancing excises
Become a make-up artist

Arts and Crafts:

How-to draw portraits
How-to paint landscapes
How-to create miniature figurines
How-to make your own jewellery

Animals and pets:

Dog Training for beginners
Dog obedience training
Horse ridding
How-to make pet garments

Software training:

Microsoft excel training
Adobe Photoshop CS4 training
How-to build edit Videos with Final cut Pro
Adobe Flash Training

Sports:

Speed bag Training for Boxers
How-to improve your Golf handicap
Fly fishing Tools and equipment
Poll dancing fitness

Music:

How-to Play the Piano
How-to Play Guitar
Vocal Training
How-to read music

That's just a small handful of subjects that can be covered producing DVDs there are thousands if not hundreds of thousands of opportunities to create DVDs on any topic.

Mainstream TV is no competition for an independent DVD producer it can help to sell more DVDs.

Lets say you create a DVD on How-to play the Violin "just an example" and a month later a TV channel starts a new show, and the show is based on people learning to play the violin.

The show gets millions of viewers and thousands of people are now searching the internet looking to learn how to play the violin and all because they love the new show and a new "trend" is starting.

That could happen and if it did you could do very well, and if you don't believe that could happen! just take a look at Tattooing... that trend came about through a popular TV show called Miami Ink and now tattooing is more popular then its ever been.

Also look at the trend of people playing the card game "Texas hold em" this craze came about from a TV show in North America that had an audience of 200 million viewers, then people started to search the internet looking to learn how to play the card game Texas hold em.

"Serious business questions for independent video producers"

Are big companies in competition?
Do you need to compete on price?

Research shows that this is a problem that most if not all wholesale buyers and sellers face and "why most fail to make money!", and with good reason... imagine if you were selling Nintendo wii's on the internet, you wouldn't do too well and here's why...

All the big companies sell Nintendo wii's on and offline they buy more consoles then you could ever buy from suppliers, therefore it cost the big companies less per unit and that means that the big companies can offer the consoles at a cheaper price to customers then you ever could.

The same is true if you were to choose to sell to a particular marketplace lets say you choose to sell Home furnishing items to home owners.

Right away you'll have competition from Supermarkets and large retail stores selling the same or similar items to the same marketplace as you are "home owners"

Again the same is true if you invented a new hoover or household appliance, big companies like dyson, morphy richards, hennry and every other hoover manufacturer in the land would be in direct competition with you by selling similar items or alternative products to yours.

The point is this! large corporations are established, they already have the lion share of customers, they have their own distribution channels, super sized marketing budgets and can generate large profits with very small margins due to the shear volume of sales they make in their outlets and shops nationally and globally. Going head to head with a retail giant by selling what they sell and trying to compete on price will end in tears many find this out the hard way.

Yet this doesn't happen with the DVD producer business model for hobbies, most hobbies are targeted at small or niche markets that are seen as "small fry" to the large corporations dominating the super large marketplaces in the retail world. The chance for success is much higher because of this.

Is having a hobby, skill or special knowledge enough?

The facts shown by national statistics who collect information and carry out statistical analysts on behalf of the British government confirm that the second highest spend in the average UK household is hobbies and recreation, even higher then the cost of housing, clothing, food, education and health.

We also know from statistics carried out by national statistics and analyst Forrester Research that Internet spending continues to rise despite the recession and that the most purchased items on the Internet in the UK are books, DVDs and leisure travel.

Anyone reading this with a hobby, skill or special knowledge, including anyone who has an ounce of entrepreneurial blood or ambition to replace, double or triple their current income by doing something they love to do, will be bursting with nervous excitement at the facts and statistics that lay before them on this page.

Yes... my dear reader "it is time to start dreaming!"

Because...

There will be many people reading this who are knowledgeable in an area, have interests or skills to share in a particular subject, some reading may have already thought of creating an item based on their hobbies, interests or the skills they have.

Why not do a little research into your hobbies, the skills you possess and the interests you enjoy, who knows? You may discover that your idea or knowledge is in demand. There may even be cases where the item people want to buy just isn't available and when you create that item, they will quite literally throw their money at you to get their hands on it.

As a result those with a passion and those that know the ins and outs of their hobby (one that's in demand) will do extremely well and potentially make a lot of money creating and selling items with the right plan of action.

Is it for you!

Are you an expert in a particular field? Do you have a passion for your hobby? Are you knowledgeable in a particular topic? Do people always ask for your advice on a particular subject? Do you have a special skill to share? Have a professional qualification?

If yes... then the product creator and DVD producer business might just be for you!

Income Protection Or Permanent Health Insurance (PHI) for U.K Residents

WHAT IS INCOME PROTECTION INSURANCE?

Income Protection insurance is designed to replace most of your income if you become injured or ill and cannot work. While all personal insurance is important, Income Protection is a particularly significant part of your financial well-being as your ability to earn an income is perhaps the most valuable asset you have.

Consider the possibility that you were to become injured and were unable to work for several months. Could you continue to meet your monthly commitments like mortgage repayments, telephone bills, and rent?

There are several common options that you should understand when deciding on which income protection policy to choose and some of these are listed below:

HOW DOES INCOME PROTECTION INSURANCE WORK?

Being too ill to work is likely to affect your earnings. What this effect may be, and how soon it will happen, will depend on your personal circumstances. Income protection insurance is designed to reduce the impact of this loss of earnings.

Under an income protection policy, you pay regular premiums to an insurance company and, in return, they agree that - subject to certain conditions - they will pay you a benefit if you are too ill to work.

Which definition applies to you will be decided when you take out your policy. A number of different definitions of incapacity are used by insurance companies. You should check with the insurer what definitions they use, but the most common ones are:

'own occupation' - you will be able to claim if your incapacity is sufficient to prevent you from following your own occupation

'any suited occupation' - you cannot claim unless you are too ill to carry out your own occupation, and any other occupation to which you are suited, as defined in your policy;

'any occupation' - you cannot claim unless you are too ill to carry out any job whatsoever;

'activities of daily living' - you can only claim if you are unable to carry out a selection of everyday tasks, such as washing and dressing yourself; and

'activities of daily working' - you can only claim if you are unable to carry out a selection of work-related tasks, such as walking, communicating and exercising manual dexterity.

Some of these definitions of incapacity may not be available for certain occupations. The definition that applies to you will have a significant effect on the amount you will have to pay.

There will usually be a period after the start of incapacity before your benefit is paid. This is called the 'deferred period'.

There is no limit to the number of claims that you can make.

Insurance companies offering income protection will always limit your benefit to an amount less than your normal earnings. This is because income protection benefits are free of personal income tax, and insurers are keen to encourage you to return to work.

HOW CAN I DECIDE WHETHER I NEED INCOME PROTECTION INSURANCE?

You will need to consider what might happen to your income and your expenses if you were too ill to work.

First - calculate your income

Potential income sources will depend on your personal circumstances and a number of factors:

If you are employed:

Your employer may continue to pay you for a limited time. Some employers will only pay Statutory Sick Pay. Others may be more generous. You should check what arrangements your employer has made.

If you are self-employed or a member of a partnership:

Your income will almost certainly cease, although your business may continue to generate income for a short time if, for instance, payment is outstanding for work already completed.

State benefits:

In the longer term you may receive Long Term Incapacity Benefit and other State benefits. Some of these benefits are means-tested, and in most cases there are conditions that have to be met, such as your having paid sufficient National Insurance contributions.

You should note that the amounts of, and eligibility conditions for, State benefits may change in the future.

Savings and investments:

If you have savings, these may produce income that will not be affected by your incapacity. Cashing in some investments earlier than planned may, however, result in a financial loss. Such savings may also affect your eligibility for some State benefits.

Pension payments:

If you are receiving a pension from a previous job this is likely to continue despite your incapacity.

Early retirement:

You may be able to start receiving an early retirement pension. This will depend on the rules of the pension scheme(s) to which you belong, and may also be at your employer's discretion. Remember, any pension which starts early is likely to be significantly lower than if you had worked until normal retirement age.

Alternative employment:

Second - calculate your expenses

If you are too ill to work for a long period of time, the way you spend your money may well alter. You need to consider how your expenses might change.

Ongoing costs:

Some types of expenses will continue. These include mortgage, rent and other housing costs, council tax, gas and electricity bills, etc. Some expenses may be covered by specific insurances (although it is common for such cover to be limited, say, to a year from when you become too ill to work). You should check whether your mortgage, hire purchase, credit card or loan repayments or pension contributions are covered by this kind of insurance.

WHEN MIGHT I NEED INCOME PROTECTION INSURANCE?

Having considered the effect on your income and your expenses, do you think that you could cope with your changed circumstances if you were too ill to work? If so, for how long could you cope? If your calculations reveal a probable shortfall, you should seriously consider taking out income protection insurance.

WHEN MIGHT I NOT NEED INCOME PROTECTION INSURANCE?

When:

You have sufficient income from other sources:

Your employer has comprehensive arrangements in place:

You could live on State benefits:

If you compare your income with State benefits, and feel that these will meet your needs, then you will not need income protection insurance.

You should note that the Benefits Agency will use their own definition of incapacity when deciding whether you can receive State benefits. This definition may not be the same one your insurer would use.

IF I DECIDE TO BUY INCOME PROTECTION INSURANCE, WHAT DECISIONS DO I NEED TO MAKE?

Most insurance companies will offer a range of different policies. The overall cost of a policy is likely to be an important consideration. You should remember that, in general terms, the broader the scope of the cover, the greater the cost. For example, 'own occupation' cover is likely to be more expensive than 'any occupation' cover. The exact cost will depend on a number of factors, including your age, sex, occupation and medical history.

You also need to:

Choose how long to wait before your benefit becomes payable:

You can usually choose from a range of possible deferred periods. You will probably wish to match this to your personal circumstances so that, for instance, if your employer will pay you for six months, the benefit from your income protection insurance policy starts after that time. You may consider that an interval, between when your employer stops paying you and when income from your income protection policy starts, would also be acceptable. The longer the deferred period, the cheaper your policy will be.

Choose how long you wish your cover to last:

This will usually also be the maximum period for which benefit will be paid if you are too ill to work. It may be sensible to link this with your normal retirement age, but remember that the longer the term of your policy, the more expensive it is likely to be.

Choose whether the premium you pay should be fixed or could change. You may be able to choose between:

Guaranteed rates - the amount you pay is fixed in advance. The amount you pay cannot be changed by your insurer, except in agreed circumstances (e.g. to rise in line with inflation).

Reviewable rates - your insurer can change the amount it charges you in the light of its costs, overall claims experience etc. This rate does not depend on any claims that you have made. Usually, no change can be made by your insurer during the early period of your policy.

Renewable rates - premiums are set for a fixed period. At the end of that time, you have the right to continue your plan, and your insurance company will set the premium level for a further fixed period, based on your age at that time.

The type of rate you choose will affect the amount you pay. Initially, guaranteed rates are likely to be the most expensive. But over a period of years, renewable rates may become more expensive, since they will increase as you grow older.

WHAT OTHER KINDS OF HEALTH PROTECTION PRODUCTS ARE THERE?

Insurance can give you the resources to cope when you encounter unexpected misfortune. Most people see good health as being very important, as it makes other aspects of life possible.

Accident, sickness and unemployment cover

Accident, sickness and unemployment insurance typically provides benefit for a limited period. A common form of this type of insurance is Mortgage Payment Protection Insurance which usually covers your mortgage payments for a maximum of 12 or 24 months in the case of accident, sickness or redundancy. There is usually a waiting period before payments are made of either 30 or 60 days.

You will need to decide which of these risks concern you, and then select the product(s) which meet your needs.

Producing A High Income Using Affiliate Marketing And Advertising On The Net

Finding a way to get ahead inside the affiliate marketing sector isn't as challenging as most people may believe. With respect to the ambitions or perhaps the purpose right behind somebody joining the affiliate programs, you will find ways that just about anyone can generate anywhere from a little subsidiary paycheck all the way up to a huge cash flow.

Personal web masters all over the place have been in a position to place advertising on their sites in return for a handful of dollars every now and again, when large companies happen to be able to make enormous chunks of money by way of marketing other Internet sites by way of their own Internet sites.

It is really an marketing choice that has no barriers and no limits. Individuals with huge Online past experiences along with enormous budgets are equally as accepted as people who have no knowledge concerning computer systems and also have a very limited financial backing. Businesses might want to end up being represented through people who are more likely to draw in huge amounts of clients, but in fact virtually any promotion they can get hold of, they're going to make use of, especially when it is totally free.

For a man or woman, who is new to the field, one thing that must be done is selecting a provider, or maybe a selection of providers to work with, for your site to represent. You can find countless websites which offer online marketers the chance for them to join directly through their sites, in addition to a range of affiliate network program Internet sites which represent a number of clientele, normally from the exact same sector. More substantial businesses together with the capability for further growth or even a massive return of business are potentially the most likely to flourish for a brand new affiliate marketer.

The online gambling sector is among several which have been experiencing massive increases, generating huge amounts of money on a yearly basis. Together with worldwide attractiveness and a constantly increasing clientele the particular sports wagering marketplace is one of the biggest of them contained underneath the broader banner associated with web gaming. Sports wagering is and always has been a favorite activity for men and women around the globe, for that reason its attraction is not limited by individual nations or even regions. this in itself helps to make this the ideal market in which to start your own personal affiliate marketing small business.

Comparable to a lot of the gaming industries affiliate programs, sports betting provides their own affiliate marketers a share of a gamers capital that was created for the Internet site. Funds are made essentially when they lose a bet, as a result every time the gambler doesn't win, the particular affiliate marketer does. And with the affiliate marketers picking about thirty five percent of the gamblers cash that has signed up by means of their website, it's not tough to see just how the income could effortlessly start flowing in when you obtain a handful of customers.

As opposed to almost all industries the affiliates are usually not quite as vicious when it comes to the level of competition for first time customers, with that in mind it's certainly not hard for novices to be able to corner their particular industry. Nevertheless in order to turn into a flourishing affiliate marketer you must first lure a constant flow of visitors to your own site. if you don't have human traffic you can never expect to achieve the essential clicks on your current affiliate links and also to be able to start out earning the big money. For that reason just like all websites it usually is in your best interests to enhance your Internet sites visibility, by means of marketing
