In the war on international radical extremist terrorists the United States sure has the advantage in part thanks to all the new technology in the battlespace. For instance, consider the use of UAVs or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles if you will. Today, these technologies are being developed in nearly every nation on Earth. Did you know that Saddam Hussein once had a UAV program too?
Leveraging such technologies sure offers an advantage to whichever side makes the best use of it. Up until now it has been us in the United States, but that may not be the cause in the future. Since nations like North Korea, Venezuela, Iran, Syria, Pakistan, China and Russia all have UAVs and some very sophisticated equipment, it will not be long until the international terrorist cells are using these technologies against us and against civilian soft targets as well.
Even a model aircraft can carry enough explosives to kill large numbers of people. One Al Qaeda sympathizer had a diagram for a model airplane to carry a hand grenade and when it crashed the hand grenade would become live as the light weight frame around the aircraft crumbled. You can already see the problem with such flying UAV type scenarios. Although a weaponized model aircraft is not too alarming, it shows those who oppose freedom are thinking here.
The next step is logical and no one needs Tom Clancy to write about it in a novel to realize that it is inevitable. Let's face facts; nearly every nation, both friendly and foe is now designing and producing UAVs and that means the International Terrorists have them too! Think on this.
